WoW Classic Season of Discovery Phase 8 is live, with the Scarlet Enclave raid!

World of Warcraft Classic’s Season of Discovery Phase 8 is now live and players can now do new quest and open world content in the Eastern Plaguelands. The next part of Phase 8, the new Scarlet Enclave raid is also live, will launch at 1PM pacific time on April 10, 2025.
We first learned about Phase 8 when Senior Game Producer Josh “Aggrend” Greenfield revealed the WoW Classic team was working on more Season of Discovery content in a detailed comment on the YouTube video of a WoW Classic content creator. As unconventional as announcements go, Aggrend also dove into some of the plans for this phase and the future of Season of Discovery, explaining that the team plans to keep the servers active for the foreseeable future to allow people to play without worry of a concrete end date.
Now that Phase 8 is here, let’s take a look at what it will bring to Season of Discovery.
What’s in Season of Discovery Phase 8?
- April 8
- New Avalon area
- “Outdoor” Content
- Scarlet Enclave-related quest content
- New Avalon area
- April 10
- Scarlet Enclave raid
- Legendary weapon questline
Phase 8 will stagger its release between open world content and the raid release. The “outdoor” content referenced in the original Phase 8 announcement is just another way to say PVE quest content localized to the town of New Avalon in the Scarlet Enclave area of the Eastern Plaguelands, which was also the name of the Death Knight starting zone from Wrath of the Lich King that included Tyr’s Hand, New Avalon, and Havenshire. Tyr’s Hand is accessible alongside New Avalon and it remains to be seen if Havenshire will appear as part of the raid or as a zone.
On April 10, the Scarlet Enclave raid will go live and feature 8 bosses as well as new class armor sets as rewards. The raid entrance is near the Scarlet Base Camp in the Eastern Plaguelands, just before Tyr’s Hand. Unlike other raids, there is no attunement quest to enter but there are some Scarlet Crusade related quests that Blizzard recommends you complete. Speaking of quests, on April 10 Hunters, Paladin, and Warriors will be able to begin an “epic quest to restore a fallen weapon” and while it isn’t confirmed, a good amount of datamined information from the PTR points to this weapon being the Ashbringer.
There’s probably going to be more in Phase 8 that we’ll learn about so we’ll keep you up to date as we learn more new information about this latest phase.
