How (and why) to earn Flame’s Radiance reputation in patch 11.1.5

WoW patch 11.1.5 brings with it the Nightfall event, among other things, but unlike the others, this one includes a new 10-level Renown track for players to progress — just in case you were getting tired of making friends with the goblins of Undermine and all the other factions of The War Within. Like all the others, the Flame’s Radiance Renown includes mostly new cosmetic rewards for you to earn, some of them very cool (and even useful), as well as the usual plethora of Valorstones, Weathered Undermine Crests, and even a buff that makes playing outdoor content in Khaz Algar easier. You’ll also earn a number of cool new titles, as each Renown level signifies a promotion within the Flame’s Radiance subfaction of the Arathi. If you’re only looking for player power, you can skip this one, but if you want a little kitty pet who can bring you your mail, read on.
How do I earn reputation with the Flame’s Radiance?
Each level of Flame’s Radiance Renown requires 2500 reputation. As a Renown track solely focused around a single hourly event, getting reputation with Flame’s Radiance mostly requires participating in the Nightfall event. At 33%, 66%, and 100%, the Nightfall event will give progressively more reputation — from 75 at the lowest level up to 350 at the max. You can also pick up daily quests to earn more reputation; these are either Sureki Incursion dailies to deal with stragglers from other invasions, such as Sureki Incursion: The Eastern Assault, or Radiant Incursion dailies to strike back at the Sureki Nerubians in Azj-Kahet, such as Radiant Incursion: Sureki’s End. Each of those will give you 100 reputation with Flame’s Radiance, and three will be available per day for a total of 300 potential reputation per day.
What are the rewards for Flame’s Radiance Renown?
The rewards come in a lot of shapes and sizes, but here’s a look at what you can expect at each Renown level. There aren’t a lot of free rewards this time around — most Renown levels just allow you to purchase something new from Quartermaster Lars Bronsmaelt.
- Renown 1: Gain the Radiant Recruit’s Tabard and Sacred Flame’s Ward buff, which seemingly works at all times in outdoor Khaz Algar zones. You’ll also earn the title Recruit.
- Renown 2: You can purchase an Arathi Entertainer’s Flame, for all your fire-juggling needs, and gain the title Reservist (plus some Resonance Crystals — you’ll actually get these at every Renown level from now on).
- Renown 3: Your lynx collection grows, as you can now purchase the void-infused lynx battle pet Mister Mans. You’ll also get the title Sentry.
- Renown 4: You can purchase a Flame’s Radiance Banner now. You gain the title Field Sacredite (if you’re wondering what they are, there’s one you can ask about it on Siren Isle) as well as a pouch of Carved Undermine Crests.
- Renown 5: Your first big promotion! Your tabard can be upgraded to a Radiant Stalwart’s Tabard now, and your Sacred Flame’s Ward buff gets stronger. Your new title at this rank is Stalwart.
- Renown 6: Probably the coolest toy in this Renown, at this level you can now purchase a Radiant Lynx Whistle — a little courier lynx kitten who functions as a mailbox! You can also purchase the battle pet Swiftpaw (the battle pet version of the courier lynx model), and you gain the title Ardent.
- Renown 7: A tier for the transmog collectors and aspiring airship captains among you — you can buy the Radiant Traveler’s Backpack, and your new title is Aeroknight. You’ll also get another helping of Carved Undermine Crests!
- Renown 8: Time to dig out your Season 1 Delver’s Dirigible: you can now purchase two new customizations for it, Pale Paint and an Arathi Decal. You also get the title Flame Guard.
- Renown 9: As a newly-titled Radiant Officer, you can now buy a Radiant Imperial Lynx to ride around on.
- Renown 10: That’s as high as it goes! Your tabard upgrades one final time, to the Sacred Templar’s Tabard, and you gain the title Sacred Templar. (I can hear the Paladins salivating already.) You’ll also gain one final chunk of Carved Crests, and your Sacred Flame’s Ward is buffed one final time. You can also now buy a Champion-tier neck piece that doubles the strength of the buff.
There are a few other rewards that aren’t tied to Renown; once per week per character, you can gain a Radiant Emblem of Service by completing The Flame Burns Eternal. These are used to purchase a new color of the extremely popular Arathi leveling armor — this one’s primarily cream and brown with gold accents. You can also spend those instead with Vesper Churnmoat to buy dark purple themed Arathi weapons that also match a new, dark purple color of the Arathi armor. The purple Arathi armor is a little harder to collect — you get it primarily from the Sureki champion at the end of the Nightfall scenario, as well as Confiscated Cultist Bags from the dailies mentioned earlier. These bags can also drop a mount, the Void-Scarred Lynx.
