What you need to know about the Nightfall event in WoW patch 11.1.5

When World of Warcraft patch 11.1.5 is now live, andone of the new features that will be available right away is the Nightfall event. Situated in Hallowfall, this event sees a faction of Hallowfall’s Arathi finest facing off against the remnants of the Sureki faction of Nerubians, who are attacking in a seeming frenzy after the death of Queen Ansurek (in patch 11.1). They will, of course, gladly welcome your help in return for renown and fabulous prizes, including cosmetics, catchup gear for alts (a recurring theme of 11.1.5 events), and a new mailbox toy in the form of an adorable little lynx.

If that interests you, all you need to do is report to western Hallowfall.

When is the Nightfall event? Nightfall happens at the top of every hour, similar to past events like Time Rifts in Dragonflight. (Confusingly, despite the name, it does not coincide with Beledar turning dark — even though almost all the Nerubian attacks happened in the dark during The War Within‘s leveling campaign…but nevermind that.)

Where is the Nightfall event? You’ll want to head out to the new Light’s Radiance reputation hub indicated by the arrow and dot on the map above, just to the west of Mereldar, and pick up The Flame Burns Eternal, a new weekly quest that requires killing the Nerubian lieutenant at the end of the event.

How long does Nightfall last? When the event starts, Nightfall by default lasts for ten minutes — but it can be sped up by player actions, and probably will be in the early days of the event, so if you want to continue, get out there early!

How do I complete the Nightfall event? You and every other player out there will receive a number of tasks from the Flame’s Radiance, such as freeing recruits from webs, destroying ballistae, and fighting Nerubians. Completing each task fills up a mission progress bar that is the other timer; Nightfall will progress to its last phase after the timer ends or when this bar fills up. Completing tasks will also fill up your service award progress bar (seriously, Nightfall has so many progress bars available at once) which controls how much reputation you’ll gain when the event ends.

How do I summon Anub’Renax? The final step of the mission triggers a brief period to catch your breath, followed by one final wave of Nerubians for a minute followed by their champion, Anub’Renax. This guy’s tough, but with everyone teaming up to take him out, it shouldn’t be a huge deal, and killing Anub’Renax ends the event.

With that, you can collect your crests, crystals, valorstones, and new reputation with the Flame’s Radiance — and hopefully a piece of Veteran-level gear for your alts, too!
