This week’s Epic Games Store free game offering is Chuchel

The Epic Games Store is giving us another game for free from Amanita games, similarly jam packed with wholesome but weird little guys: Chuchel.

  • DLC: A “Cherry edition” which includes an art book and soundtrack. You can also purchase just the art book and soundtrack.

In Chuchel, you pilot hairy little orange fuzzball Chuchel to find his stolen cherry by solving point and click puzzles. Some are just kind of puzzle-y, and some involve physics (think Angry Birds). I am contractually obligated to inform you Chuchel has a little hat. He looks a little like an acorn, but he’s not an acorn. He is just Chuchel.

If last week’s free Epic Games Store game Botanicula seemed unfun and puerile to you, I have bad news: you’ve lost all your childish sense of whimsy. Also, Chuchel offers a similarly kooky, but different, experience, so you’re probably not going to be happy with today’s free game. That’s okay. You’ve probably forgotten what true happiness is anyway.

And, as with Botanicula, this game has recently been review bombed, since Amanita Games recently held a remarkably successful fundraiser to benefit Ukraine, so if you play this game and enjoyed it, consider reviewing it to offset the negativity.
