When does Diablo 3 Season 34 end?

Diablo 3 Season 34, Light’s Calling, kicked off on January 31 after weeks of bumpy lead-up. Since then, Season 34 has been trucking along (mostly steadily), with everyone enjoying the angelic crucible updates. But few seasonal themes last forever, so we ask the age-old question: when do we have to say goodbye to Light’s Calling’s angelic crucibles? We’ve pushed forward our estimate and predict Diablo 3 Season 34 will end Sunday, June 1, 2025.

As of May 6, Diablo franchise Director of Social & Content Marketing Adam Fletcher advised in a response on X that we are still a couple of weeks out from talking dates/times of the next season.

Diablo 3 shifted into maintenance mode after Diablo 4 launched, with a standard turnaround timeline of roughly 9-10 days between the next season’s preview blog and the end of the current season. A couple (say, two) weeks out from discussing the next season’s launch puts us at a blog somewhere between May 19 and May 23. Add a week and a half, and we’re ending at the beginning of June.

D3 seasons have been on a pretty consistent schedule since maintenance mode started, with Seasons 30 and 31 both running for 12 weeks and 2 days. Season 32 switched things up a bit, adding two weeks to the runtime to account for both a PTR period and the launch of Diablo 4’s first expansion, Vessel of Hatred.  All good, right?

Well, that extension of Season 32 had some unexpected repercussions. First, Season 33 accidentally ended two weeks early. Then the announced start date for Season 34 (January 24) butted up against the new Diablo 4 season. After some community feedback, Blizzard announced a delay in the season start on January 22 — a change made just two days beforehand. As a bonus, pushing the start date back gave the Diablo team more time to ensure any lingering account issues were resolved after the unplanned event.

If you’re wondering right now what this means with Diablo 4 Season 8, you’re not alone. D4 Season 7 received an extension until April 29. With the original Season 34 start date, we’d have the same scheduling problem, with season starts overlapping for the two games. So our original estimate of May 4 (based on the January 31 start) fell neatly after D4 Season 8 starts and had the power of the Force behind it. Sadly, that date passed with nothing but problems for console users reported on Reddit.

As always, please remember that this is speculation. We will know more details when the blog post comes out containing Season 35’s start date and theme details. For now, we think you have until June 1, 2025 to keep enjoying Light’s Calling. But really, who knows?
