It’s a long maintenance Tuesday for modern WoW, but all servers are now back online!

Monday maintenance is yesterday’s news: we’ve moved on to Tuesday maintenance in WoW. It’s a speedy one for Classic realms (of all types) — though that “speedy” Classic maintenance was extended for an hour — but with the launch of patch 11.1.7, modern realms are expected to be offline most of the day.
Maintenance has now concluded and all servers are back up, though absolutely no one met their set maintenance timeline. Classic maintenance went long, while modern WoW servers came up about three hours early. Happy gaming, everyone!
Here’s the maintenance schedule for Tuesday, June 17:
- The War Within: Offline from 7am – 3pm pacific (10am – 6pm eastern)
- Cataclysm Classic: Offline from 7am –
8am9am pacific (10am –11am12pm eastern) - WoW Classic (including Classic Era, Season of Discovery, Anniversary, and Hardcore realms): Offline from 7am –
8am9am pacific (10am –11am12pm eastern)
When patch 11.1.7 comes online there will be plenty to do — unlike patch 11.1.5, very little of the new patch is timegated and most content will be available immediately. That means you can jump into the new Arathi Highlands quests, start racking up loot and levels in Timewalking, dive into Overcharged Delves, Lorewalk your way through some of the game’s biggest stories, or try out the new Combat Assistant to make your rotation (and leveling all of those alts) a little easier. Only the Greedy Emissary event is delayed, launching in July. Today should be a good day in game when the servers do come back online.
To help you pass the time I strongly recommend Eric’s post yesterday on adorable pigs, because cute animals are the balm we all need to survive another week. (And actually, if you start in on League of Pigs from the beginning, watching it all will take you through most of today’s maintenance by itself.) But if you’re pig-adverse, it’s also Steam Fishing Fest this week, so you could spend the afternoon on some virtual fishing. These games run the gamut, from creepy beyond the deep vibes in Dredge to the low key relaxation of new release Cast n Chill. Fishing games span a frankly mind-boggling range of genres, so there’s a little something for everyone in Steam’s latest attempt to expand our library of unplayed titles — and any of them could be a nice way to relax while waiting on the servers to come back online. And, of course, much anticipated game Date Everything! is out today, featuring a cast that includes every voice actor you’ve heard of and more playing datable items in your home. Yes, items. Yes, this is a real thing. Yes, I’ve already pre-ordered it.
All WoW servers are now back online, though I wouldn’t blame you if you wanted to play Date Everything! instead.
