How to get and upgrade your Reshii Wraps in WoW patch 11.2
WoW patch 11.2, Ghosts of K’aresh, will arrive soon — August 5, in fact! Among all the other features coming in the new patch — new dungeons, new story, a new raid, and more — one of the standout features has to be the Reshii Wraps. Not just the item that will occupy your cloak slot for the rest of The War Within, the Reshii Wraps also have a beneficial proc for whatever spec you’re playing and unlock new content in the form of Phase Diving. They’re also required to enter the Manaforge Omega raid: as you’ll discover during your questing experience, no fleshy mortals can enter Dimensius’ city-sized presence without being utterly dissolved, so you’ll need to use the Reshii Wraps to temporarily turn into an energy being like the Ethereals (and sneak into Manaforge Omega through the pipes).
Since picking these up will be a priority for a lot of players, you’d hope that getting them wouldn’t be complicated — and luckily, it’s not. When you log in after patch 11.2 is live, you should automatically receive the quest A Shadowy Invitation. (If not, check your Adventure Journal — you should be able to start it from there.) This quest line will send you to Locus-Walker in Dornogal, who will open a portal inside Foundation Hall to send you to Tazavesh. From there, you’ll just want to follow the campaign quest chain. The K’aresh campaign has five chapters, but you’ll only need to complete three — the final quest of chapter three, The Tabiqa, will reward your Reshii Wraps, three Ethereal Strands, and also your choice of a fiber, which will fit into the socket on your cloak and set its secondary stats.
At this point, a nearby NPC will offer you a purple-icon quest called Another World. Following this will take you to Shad’anis at Overlook Zo’Shuul, which you may remember from earlier in the storyline; this is essentially your Reshii Wrap headquarters. The quests that follow from Another World will introduce you to the concept of Phase Diving, which — in addition to being used to obtain mounts, pets, toys, and cosmetic gear — is also one of the places you can obtain the Warrant quests that become a weekly source of Ethereal Strands.
The other NPC at Overlook Zo’Shuul, Hashim, will offer you a single quest called Wrapped Up, which teaches you to use Ethereal Strands (three at a time) to empower your Reshii Wraps using an upgrade “tree” (it doesn’t actually have any branches); taking the first upgrade will raise your cloak to item level 701 and also unlock the passive effect for your specialization. The talent tree upgrades are account-wide, so your alts shouldn’t have to grind out Ethereal Strands of their own (though they may need to insert the upgrades into the tree manually). They also will not need to quest through the campaign: once the skip is unlocked for them, they can skip straight to Tazavesh, fly to Overlook Zo’Shuul, and talk to Hashim to explain that they’ve lost their Reshii Wraps and need a new one. Hashim also sells an Ethereal Seam Ripper, which will be useful if you need to swap between threads for different specs — especially once you start commissioning stronger threads, like Pure Chronomantic Thread, from Tailoring crafters via work order.
The initial questing to get your Reshii Wraps took me approximately two hours of questing on the PTR. This is by no means an optimal time — I was playing a tank spec, I was sharing thoughts and screenshots in Discord, and I was taking notes for this article — but also was timed while ignoring all side quests and many “stay awhile and listen” dialogues. That said, it shouldn’t be an onerous time investment to get your cloak, and it’s only one extra twenty-minute chapter of questing after that to get you ready to enter Manaforge Omega.
