Mists of Pandaria Classic releases a new teaser trailer, just in time for launch

It’s hard to top the question asked in Mists of Pandaria’s initial release trailer, and Taran Zhu’s instantly iconic, “why do we fight” was core both to the narrative of that expansion and hit the hearts of many a World of Warcraft enthusiast. Over a decade later — yes, it is, and we’d encourage you to try a more hydrating eye cream with retinol — the WoW team is enticing us back to Pandaria with a new trailer. It may not quite match the chills from the original, but we’re looking at that through the rosy lens of nostalgia (which this new trailer acknowledges).

It hits many of the heights of the Mists experience, from farming and food, to those same farmers taking up whatever they can to fight bugs, and the landscape being slowly taken over, warped by the Sha. It was simultaneously very hopeful and a little depressing. I know I’ll be playing, at least briefly, to see the uncorrupted Vale again. It’s been twelve years, and that homecoming will be sweet, even if Lorewalker Cho is the one with the voiceover this go around.

The one thing they didn’t hit on? Kazoos. Can’t win em all.
