Keylocker and Pilgrims are this week’s free games from the Epic Games Store
The Epic Games Store is giving away two games this week, one of which is brand new on the platform.
- Keylocker
- Release Date: September 18, 2024
- Game Type: turn-based, rhythm, JRPG
- POV: 3rd person, isometric
- Party: Single player
- DLC: none
The subtitle of this one is “turn based cyberpunk action,” and this game is really basically that — and then some. It mashes up several big genres into one, featuring the framing of a JRPG and gameplay elements that include rhythm games, bullet hells, and turn-based combat. It’s kind of a wild all-in-one, but it also has that feeling of, if you don’t like this particular style of game or minigame, just wait five minutes. Something else will definitely turn up. This one has been on Steam for a while, but is now available on Epic.
- Pilgrims
- Release Date: October 7, 2019
- Game Type: Adventure, Cards
- POV: 3rd person, 2D
- Party: Single player
- DLC: none.
Another freebie from Amanita Design, this game has similar charming art to their other recent free offerings. Use cards to try to solve puzzles — or use the ones you know are wrong to try to have a giggle. Either is encouraged by the developers, who want you to play this game for fun. Kind of a novel concept.
