Just how big is Dimensius?

The final boss of World of Warcraft patch 11.2′s Manaforge Omega raid, the last raid of The War Within expansion, is the void lord Dimensius, the All-Devouring who is projected to be the biggest raid boss in WoW to date. The immediate follow up question is, “How big is the biggest ever?” Well, according to an interview with Blizzard developers, Dimensius is sized comparably to the Stormwind City while a datamined model of Dimensius clocks it at about 3,806.3 feet (ft) or 1160.16 meters (m) in height while the base of the model takes up the entire surface area of Dalaran.

But what does this size look like in comparison to other things? Let’s see if we can capture just how large this boss really is.

Some very quick housekeeping before we get started:

  • First off, this is for fun. I stayed away from using in-game or lore examples because that would require more math for me to do and quickly devolve in to an entirely separate conversation that I’m better off leaving for Matt and Joe to tackle in the Lore Watch Podcast.
  • I’ll primarily use feet and meters as units of measurement.
  • I’m going to assume the height numbers for Dimensius are correct for the time being and the measurement begins at the base of the swirling void where its legs would be and runs to the top most spike protruding from its neck-back area.
  • Using the height referenced in the datamined model, I estimated a rough width of 1868.8 ft from shoulder to shoulder because it was slightly easier to measure than the floating unattached pieces around the shoulder area.
  • I tried to calculate a surface but because void beings are constantly changing swirling masses of energy, well, everyone will forgive me for being unable to do so.

Just how big is Dimensius?

I decided to compare Dimensius to real world, mostly Americans objects to hammer home the size scale. Why American? Because as a country we have comically oversized items for no reason.

Memphis Pyramid aka the Bass Pro Pyramid

A modern pinnacle of American engineering and unabashed capitalism, Bass Pro emblazoned-pyramid located in Memphis, TN measures at 321 ft/98m in height while its base on each side is about 591 ft/180 m in length.

It would take 11.86 pyramids on top of each other and 3.16 pyramids lined up next to each other to match Dimensius in height and width.

Red Solo cups

The height of a standard red Solo cup from base to lip is about 4.73 inches (in.) and the diameter of the top opening is 3.88 in. If Dimensius is 3806.3 ft tall (45,672.2 in.) and 1868.8 ft wide (22,425.6 in.), then we would need 9,696.86 cups stacked on top of each from end to end (not stacked inside each other) to be as tall as Dimensius and need 5779.79 cups to be just as wide.

Ford F-250

There’s nothing Americans love to drive more than an oversized chunk of death-bringing steel they’ll never use for construction, hauling, or any of its intended purposes other than overcompensation and over the last 20 years, Ford F-series trucks have only gotten larger in size and space. The two-door 250 Super Duty model is about middle of the pack in terms of size and measurements of the 2025 version (cab and box/bed without any extra features) comes in at about 19.31 feet in length, 6.57 ft in height, and 6.67 ft. wide.

Using the truck’s standard height and width, 597 trucks placed on top of each other are needed to compare to the void lord’s height and 280.15 trucks to match the width. If you’re comparing the length of the truck, however, we’d need 197.11 trucks for the height and 96.77 trucks for the width. Most importantly, it would likely take the impact of only a single truck to splatter this boss like it has done to so many other pieces of American infrastructure.

The world’s largest Dinosaur

The world’s largest dinosaur statue is a Tyrannosaur named Tyra who resides in Drumheller, Alberta Canada. Tyra is about 4 times larger than standard T-Rex standing at 86 ft/25 m tall and 151 ft/46 m long, which presumably is from snout to tail-tip. You could place 44.26 Tyras stacked on top of each other to match Dimensius’ height and line up 12.38 Tyra’s  from snout to tail to be as wide.

Manaforge Omega is open right now, so you could go and take a look yourself to decide what Dimensius best measures up to — though Story Mode won’t arrive until August 19 and LFR wing 3 on August 26.
