Phase 6 is launching on WoW Classic anniversary realms on October 2
The sixth and final phase of Classic Era content is coming to World of Warcraft’s Classic 20th anniversary realms will be October 2, 2025. This phase of content brings another raid, world events, and PVP activities for players to enjoy, let’s take a closer look!
What is in Phase 6?
- Scourge Invasion world event
- Naxxramas 40-player raid
- Atiesh weapon questline
- World PVP in Eastern Plaguelands and Silithus
Two major activities are coming in Phase 6: the Scourge Invasion world event and the Naxxramas 40-player raid. When Phase 6 launched on Classic servers in 2020, these activities went live at the same time and it’s reasonable to expect that will be the case for the anniversary realms. World PVP objects should also be added in Eastern Plaguelands and Silithus
The Scourge Invasion is a time world event where the undead will attack different zones and players will be charged with defending them. A zone currently under attack will have a floating purple skull show up on your map. Areas that need to be defended include each faction city and their respective zones, as well as six contested zones: Eastern Plaguelands, Burning Steppes, Blasted Lands, Tanaris, Winterspring, and Azshara. Defeating the undead that spawn during invasions will reward players with loot and currency that be turned into the Argent Dawn quartermasters for more loot. Some bonus loot can also be acquired from certain NPCs in dungeons.
Naxxramas is a 40-player raid accessible to players who complete the attunement questline and rewards Tier 3 set items. The bosses of Naxxramas also have a chance to drop the Splinter of Atiesh which is the first step in the questline that ultimately rewards the Legendary Atiesh, Greatstaff of the Guardian, usable by casters.
Phase 6 activities will see a few minor tweaks before eventually leading in to the planned Burning Crusade Classic pre-patch and release for anniversary realms. The Classic anniversary realms have largely adhered to the launch windows outlined in the Classic 2025 roadmap but right now it’s too soon to say when that will be. Once we know more from Blizzard, we’ll let you know!
