Surprise Wednesday maintenance for The War Within — modern WoW servers are back online!

We’re getting some bonus WoW maintenance this week with a quick extra hour of downtime. There’s no word on why this extra hour of maintenance is needed, as servers have been stable with no obvious bugs since they came online after Tuesday’s maintenance. But even so, we have an hour of downtime to contend with.

Here’s the WoW maintenance schedule for Wednesday, August 27:

• The War Within: Offline from 7am – 8am pacific (10am – 11am eastern)

There’s no maintenance scheduled for Classic servers, so Mists of Pandaria, Classic Era, Season of Discovery, Anniversary, and Hardcore players should be good to play without any issues. And modern WoW players who really feel the need to get in game could just take a trip back in time and hang out in Classic for a while. (I’m told that dying in Hardcore is very refreshing.(

Servers came back online as scheduled, and there don’t seem to be any issues. Have fun storming the castle Manaforge!
