This week’s free games from the Epic Games Store are Make Way and Machinarium
This week Epic Games is offering up two games for free that have fun, unique twists and turns to explore — literally.
- Make Way
- Release Date: January 21, 2022
- Game Type: Racing, Building
- POV: 3rd person, top-down
- Party: Single player, Co-op, versus
- DLC: none
Make Way was released a couple years ago on other platforms, but it’s making its debut on the Epic Games Store today. It has all the zany head-to-head racing action of a title like Mario Kart, but you also build the track — and obstacles for your friends or NPCs to crash into as you race. Who needs a blue shell when you have a brick wall?
- Machinarium
- Release Date: October 16, 2009
- Game Type: Puzzle, Casual
- POV: 3rd person, 2D
- Party: Single player
- DLC: You can also purchase the soundtrack and an art book.
One of the first by Amanita Designs, Machinarium has all the same hand drawn charm and puzzling as all their other offerings we’ve been getting for free for the past few months. It does seem a bit darker and less flippant and silly in tone than the others, but it’s still just as charming and unique as the others. Well, perhaps unique isn’t quite the word in this context, but Amanita tends to have a strong vision all their own.
