Some handy addons and other tools to help you collect and manage your Warcraft decor catalogue
While we wait for patch 11.2.7, when we can start playing around with Player Housing in game, there are things you can do now to start planning for the decor you’ll want to fill up your house on launch. When the patch goes live, you’ll be able to pick up new decor from vendors across Azeroth, dungeon and raid drops, achievements (with particularly special pieces for expansion-wide meta-achievements), crafting, questing, and more.
Collecting everything you need to build the perfect home is going to be a big job, and you may need some help to track your decor collection, where to find which pieces, and your progress on associated achievements. Fortunately, the community has already come together with some great tools to help you get your (player) house in order.

Home Bound addon for tracking achievement decor
To check your progress on achievements, the Home Bound addon gives you a handy dashboard that tracks your progress and groups achievements by expansion or gameplay mode. I could see that the main gaps I had were faction-based in Battle for Azeroth achievements and PVP achievements.
The addon also gives you a handy popover with an image of the reward model so you can decide if you want to focus on unlocking any missing items, or if they just don’t fit your aesthetic.

WoWDB Housing Hub for tracking decor and investigating housing plots
MMO Champion’s WoWDB has set up a Player Housing-specific site called WoWDB Housing Hub with several useful tools, as well as a catalogue of decor items grouped by category, with information on how items can be used, how much of your house budget they will consume, their theme, and whether there are any faction or location restrictions. For items that are crafted via a profession, it will list the required profession and materials.

My personal favorite tool on WoWDB Housing is the interactive maps for both Founder’s Point and Razorwind Shores, which will let you virtually tour the two faction housing hubs and pre-select the plot you want to claim.

Completionism website for completionists (or all of us)
If you participated in Legion Remix, Mists of Pandaria Remix, or the Collector’s Bounty event, you may have stumbled onto Completionism.com, a website that is designed to pull in data from your armory profile and track what you have — or more importantly haven’t yet — collected during an event.
There isn’t a lot of housing help here, but the site recently added the ability to filter for achievements that will reward housing decor items for the Legion Remix event (look for a toggle labeled “rewards housing decor” in the left-hand column), and I suspect they will add decor collection filtering for more sections as they become available.

WOWKEA and more excellent housing how-tos
YouTuber Meggoart seems to have hit gold with a series of videos on making use of the WoW housing tools to build better and more inviting spaces. It seems to be one of those right idea, right time opportunities. She has also established a WOWKEA Discord server to share information and ideas on how to build your best house. So far the community seems really welcoming and I’ve seen a few recognized names wander through.
But there are a lot of YouTubers making great housing videos, including Solar Excelco’s videos about making dream portals and hobbit houses, and Building Mouse’s videos about making musical instruments and custom windows.
Do you have any housing resources I’ve missed? Let us know in the comments what other handy resources you’ve found for Player Housing.
