Godzilla Voxel Wars and Zoeti are this week’s Epic Games Store free games of the week

The Epic Games Store is giving away two games this week. Here’s hoping you enjoy at least one of them, to keep you company during this holiday season.

You, as Godzilla, are tasked with saving humanity from an alien invasion, by solving a bunch of puzzles stage-by-stage to defeat them in Godzilla Voxel Wars. Yeah, I’m not sure that tracks thematically, but the rule of cool triumphs over all. Hopefully you will too. With Godzilla on your side, anything can happen? As it is a voxel-based game no matter what, there will be destruction, which definitely does track with the Godzilla theme.

  • Game Type: turn-based roguelike deckbuilder
  • POV: 3rd person, game board
  • Party: Single player
  • DLC: None.

At this point, any time you see a deckbuilder roguelike, there’s a temptation to say, “this is like Balatro, but…” and Zoeti is no exception. It’s like Balatro, but instead of your traditional poker plays being bolstered by Jokers, you use your traditional poker plays to activate abilities to defeat your opponents, and which abilities and which plays will vary wildly from run to run. You might want to make multiple plays in a single round to finish your opponent, or hold your cards and hope they don’t finish you.
