A lengthy WoW maintenance precedes Player Housing — all servers are now online!

It’s a big day for World of Warcraft players as the long-awaited Player Housing feature goes live in modern WoW with patch 11.2.7. But big content means big maintenance, and The War Within realms are scheduled to be offline all day. While there’s always the hope servers will be back up early, there’s also the fear that maintenance could be extended for an update this significant, so settle in for a wait.

But for WoW Classic players, this is a perfectly ordinary Tuesday, with a quick hour of early morning maintenance that means Classic servers should be back before you know it. Here’s the WoW maintenance schedule for Tuesday, December 2:

• The War Within: Offline from 7am – 3pm pacific (10am – 6pm eastern) 7am – 5pm pacific (10am – 8pm eastern)
• Mists of Pandaria Classic: Offline from 7am – 8am pacific (10am – 11am eastern)
• WoW Classic (including Classic Era, Season of Discovery, Anniversary, and Hardcore realms): Offline from 7am – 8am pacific (10am – 11am eastern)

All servers are now back online! Though The War Within announced extended maintenance, the servers came back online slightly before maintenance was originally scheduled to end. A shocking turn on a long maintenance day!

When the servers come back online, Player Housing will be available in The War Within, with some caveats:

• You’ll only have access to housing if you’ve pre-ordered Midnight. (It doesn’t matter what edition, you just have to have pre-ordered one of them.)
• Public and guild neighborhoods will be available, but not charter neighborhoods (which allow you to form private neighborhoods for a group of players other than a guild). If you’re hoping for a charter neighborhood in the future, you can go ahead and set up your house now and move it later.
• Endeavors, the neighborhood-wide activities that will award you with decor, will not be going live with the patch. Instead, they’ll be available when Midnight launches.
• The much-awaited Blood Elf and Night Elf home designs, which have yet to make their appearance in the beta, have been delayed to Midnight launch. That means the only exterior options for your house is an Human-style house in Alliance neighborhoods or an Orc-style house in Horde neighborhoods — though both can be customized to give them your own vibe, or even hidden altogether with piles of exterior decor.

But the core features of housing will be available when the servers go up, letting you join a neighborhood, build and decorate a home of your own, and collect decor around Azeroth. That alone will give us all plenty to do, but it isn’t the only thing in patch 11.2.7, which also brings back the Brawler’s Guild and Turbulent Timeways so there’s a heck of a lot to keep us busy while we wait for Midnight to arrive in March 2026.

However, we have to wait out this maintenance first. There’s a new Twitch Drop for a stylish mask that starts at 10am pacific (1pm eastern), and while modern servers won’t be available you could pick it up by watching WoW Classic streamers. (Or you could play some Classic yourself to kill time.) A new Hearthstone Battlegrounds season is also starting today, though it likely won’t be online until later this afternoon (still, it should be up before TWW).
