Grab your lucky hat and farm these Player Housing decor drops from rares and rewards
While the vast majority of Player Housing decor can be obtained without relying on random chance, there are a few pieces so far in early access that require some good ol’ luck to acquire. While none of them will send you to the ends of Azeroth for a minuscule chance of success, it’s worth putting these on your to-do list and adding them to your collection before Midnight adds a whole new array of decor to collect.
The initial announcement of the mechanics behind collecting housing decor was very welcome — running through a legacy dungeon or raid to nab an octopus fireplace or draconic lantern would be a sure thing. Players certainly have enough rare mounts and pets to collect from past instances, and the last thing we need is another reason to slog through old content repeatedly.
Altogether, it seems there are very few decor items that have less than a 100% chance to be awarded when completing the required objectives. There doesn’t seem to be any punishing 0.1% drop rate decor that will have you camping a rare mob every week until the heat death of the universe, with players mostly reporting that somewhere in the neighborhood of three to six attempts was sufficient to take home one of these brand new decorations.
Do keep in mind that, should you need several of any of these items, you’ll need to continue farming until your catalog is sufficiently stocked.

Forsaken Spiked Brazier, Banshee Queen’s Banner, Elven Temple Brazier, Filigree Moon Sconce — Take a trip to Darkshore and hunt some rare creatures, and within a few minutes you should be adding some very sharp Forsaken and Night Elf decor to your collection. Make sure you are in the Warfront phase, and speak with Zidormi near Lor’danel if you’re not. These four items have a small chance to drop from any rare mob in the zone, and there is no lockout. With dozens of rares on short timers that also drop pets, mounts, and toys, flying through the zone is a collectible bonanza. Other guides will list specific rares to hover beside because of their short spawn times, but since those will likely be camped by other players my advice is to keep moving (and harvest some lumber while you’re at it).
Very Reliable Undermine Lamppost — Hopefully you’re not sick of whipping around the Goblin capital in your hot rod delivering packages, because you’ll need to fulfill a few dozen Shipping & Handling jobs to earn this crooked metallic light pole. It has a chance of being added to your bags after completing a streak of 10 jobs, so if you’re still behind on reputation with the cartels then simply add Many Jobs, Handle It! to your weekly to-do list and you’ll have a whole front yard full of streetlights before you know it.
Trashfire Barrel — This lovely rusted drum contains a cheerful flame and is perfect for your indoor garbage nook. It has a chance to drop from the chest that spawns at the end of S.C.R.A.P. jobs, so it’s once again as easy as adding the quest Reduce, Reuse, Resell to your weekly checklist.
Councilward’s Jeweled Goblet — Set an alarm for the top of the hour and head to Dornogal, because this exquisite cup is a reward from the Theater Troupe event. No need to overexert yourself, as any of the milestone chests have a chance to contain the goblet as well as the participation chest that gets added to your bags at the conclusion of the play. It should be easy to pick up as many of these as you need, even if you’re planning a full-on fancy table setting for your raid group.
Ancient Elven Highback Chair — This ridiculously tall purple chair would look great as a throne, and you can pick one up on the Broken Isles. You will need to be fairly deep into the story of Suramar before seeing the Withered Army Training daily quest, so newer players have their work cut out for them. Once you see the quest pop up, complete the scenario and the final reward chest has a chance to contain this finely detailed seating option.
