Rustler is this week’s free game on the Epic Games Store

The subtitle for this game is “Grand Theft Horse,” and Rustler seems to fulfill some of the zany violence and mayhem of the GTA franchise in a medieval-style ambiance.

Rustler is releasing to the Epic Game Store today, and to celebrate it’ll be free this week. It’s an interesting title, taking some of the concept of GTA, but putting it in a new setting. The gameplay is also somewhat different, even from perspective — a top-down visual instead of over-the-shoulder. Still, it very much jives with the fantasy of not only a GTA-alike, but also that kind of murder hobo gameplay we’ve come to love from certain D&D campaigns. If you’re the type to play a Wizard who, rather than making friends with a lockpicking Rogue at the tavern just opts to prep Fireball, you’ll probably really enjoy Rustler.

This game is roughly five years old, so you may already own it — and maybe a couple of its DLC — on Steam. But, per usual, free is free.
