Hold a house party to earn upgrade crests in Midnight

It looks like we’ll be able to complete a simple, repeatable neighborly quest in Midnight to earn some powerful rewards each week. If you’ve never visited the plots next to yours or checked out your friends’ decor collections, now is the time to do some socializing.

The weekly quest Housewarming will be available each lockout period in Silvermoon City from Vaeli. All you’ll need to do to complete it is be present when five players, including the homeowner, are present in the interior of a Player Housing home. That’s it — no time requirements, no tasks to perform, no clicking on each other. As soon as that fifth player walks in the door, expect your quest log to light up “completed.”

The rewards for attending such a gathering are impressive. Firstly, you’ll receive a number of baseline rewards: a small sum of gold, 25 Community Coupons for purchasing Endeavor decor, 500 Voidlight Marl (Midnight’s equivalent of Resonance Crystals), and one Essence of Lumber. We still aren’t positive what that magical wooden mote will get us, but our scrying crystals point to this being redeemable for a quantity of lumber from the expansion of your choosing.

But wait, there’s more! You’ll be able to choose one additional reward. Players who spend most of their time in dungeons and raids might choose the 3 Void-Touched Augment Runes. The collector-minded among us will probably go for the extra 500 Voidlight Marl. The most newsworthy choices, however, are the stacks of upgrade crests that partygoers can choose from.

Midnight’s version of The War Within’s crest-based upgrade system involves a new multi-level currency: Dawncrests. The tier system looks to be much simpler this time around: Veteran Dawncrests will be used to upgrade Veteran gear, Champion Dawncrests upgrade Champion gear, and Hero Dawncrests upgrade Hero track gear.

If improving your weapons and armor appeals to you, then you can choose the reward that best suits your gear progression status each week. Players can decide between a larger number of lower-tier crests or a smaller number of more powerful crests. The breakdown is:

• 60 Veteran Dawncrest or
• 40 Champion Dawncrest or
• 20 Hero Dawncrest

So send out those party invitations now and set the table with your finest edible-looking decor. Above all, be sure to have fun visiting other player’s homes and receiving a goodie bag full of upgrade crests.
