How to win Hearthstone’s Splendiferous Showdown! Tavern Brawl
This week, we have a brand-new Hearthstone Tavern Brawl, and it’s a pretty fun one. Splendiferous Showdown! revives the decks provided to you by Splendiferous Whizbang, a legendary card that gave you an experimental deck that broke the normal rules of the game. In this Brawl, you’ll simply pick a class and be provided with whichever deck Whizbang had for that class, and then play a normal game with it.
So read on to learn more about this Brawl, and which class to pick to win!
(Yes, the in-game chalkboard does have a typo in it. Don’t blame us!)

Tavern Brawl basics
- Name: Splendiferous Showdown!
- Description: Splendiferous Whizbang is sharing his secret decks! Pick your favorite and battle against his other creations!
- Fun level: 9/10
- Difficulty: 6/10
- Replayability: 9/10
- Format: Wild
- Type: PVP
- Deck: Provided
- Rewards: One Cataclysm card pack
This is one of the most replayable Brawls we’ve had in a while. Each of the eleven classes gets a deck that breaks the usual Hearthstone rules in some way, and feels completely unique. You might have two copies of your Legendaries, or get access to a ton of cards from other classes, or have a deck that contains only 20 cards, or have special Wishes or Treasures that you can draw during the game to turn things in your favor.
It’s definitely a really fun new Brawl, and it’s worth checking out each class to see what each deck does (if you’re not already familiar with them from playing Splendiferous Whizbang in the past).

What to do to win Hearthstone’s Splendiferous Showdown! Tavern Brawl
Here’s a brief description of what each deck does:
- Hunter: Play a deck with TWO copies of legendaries!
- Warrior: Play a deck overflowing with Lackeys!
- Mage: Play a deck of ever-shifting cards!
- Druid: Play a deck discovering all your cards!
- Shaman: Play a deck with 3 Quests!
- Priest: Play a deck with 9 Astral Automatons!
- Demon Hunter: Play a deck with 3 Wishes that give you the perfect card!
- Rogue: Play a deck with 8 Treasures in it!
- Death Knight: Play a deck with cards from all classes and spell schools!
- Paladin: Play a deck with lots of singleton cards!
- Warlock: Play a deck with only 20 cards!
(If you want to learn more, you can find out what each Splendiferous deck does in detail on this link.)
The Death Knight’s Rainbow Deck is very strong (and fun to play too). It would definitely be our first pick if you just want to win the game and get your pack. You’ll get access to lots of cards from different classes, including cheap and powerful early game spells like Wild Growth from Druid, Thrive in the Shadows from Priest, and Primordial Glyph from Mage. Your goal is to cast spells of every different school, and your deck is filled with powerful cards that benefit from that.
The Warlock’s Shrunken Deck is also very strong, but can be a little trickier to play. You start the game with only 20 cards in your deck, and you have several effects that destroy cards from your deck and thrive when your deck has few or no cards left, rewarding you for that risk with powerful outcomes, such as Neeru Fireblade and Chef Nomi. But it also has ways to rebuild your deck, with Archivist Elysiana. Pick this one if you’re feeling confident.
For another easy option, go with the Priest’s Nonuplet Deck. You’ll be playing nothing but Astral Automaton, and cards that give you even more Automatons than your starting nine, such as Zola the Gorgon and Celestial Projectionist. It’s very straightforward, and your gameplan is pretty obvious, but it works, as long as you’re also keeping your opponent under control with your cards like Holy Smite, Holy Nova, and Lightbomb.
Finally, we’d recommend picking the Demon Hunter’s Deck of Wishes. It’s standard DH affair with lots of weapons and early aggression, but what makes this deck special are the three Wishes you’ll get throughout the game. If you’re smart with them (and a bit lucky), you can absolutely ruin whatever it is that your opponent is doing against you, or find the perfect finisher card to close the game.
This Brawl definitely feels fun enough to repeat several times, picking multiple classes — I know I did. So pick your deck(s), play your game(s), and have fun!
