It’s a surprisingly short Tuesday maintenance for all World of Warcraft players — all servers back online early!

I don’t want to look a gift horse in the mouth, but I am a little surprised at this week’s one hour scheduled server maintenance. While WoW Classic has been running just fine, last week’s rollout of patch 12.0.5 on modern realms did not go smoothly. In fact, the patch is so full of bugs that Blizzard has issued an apology (in addition to a great many hotfixes). So I assumed we would be in for some extra maintenance today… but the maintenance schedule says otherwise.

Here’s the WoW maintenance schedule for Tuesday, April 28:

  • Midnight: Offline from 7am – 8am pacific (10am – 11am eastern)
  • Mists of Pandaria Classic: Offline from 7am – 8am pacific (10am – 11am eastern)
  • WoW Classic (including Classic Era, Season of Discovery, and Hardcore realms): Offline from 7am – 8am pacific (10am – 11am eastern)
  • The Burning Crusade Classic Anniversary realms: Offline from 7am – 8am pacific (10am – 11am eastern)

All World of Warcraft realms are back online, a little earlier than scheduled.

I really thought extended maintenance was on the cards considering Blizzard has continued rolling out patch 12.0.5 hotfixes, but servers came up about 20 minutes early this morning — slightly before weekly reset on modern realms, which always leaves a mass of people in front of the vault.

Hopefully realms will remain stable and our problems are behind us. I’ll be back with another maintenance update on Tuesday.
