Diablo 4 is packed with new (and old) Warcraft-themed rewards — for a price

Diablo 4 is at it again with more pricey microtransactions: World of Warcraft’s beloved Tier 2 armor sets are now available in Diablo 4, and gosh they sure are pretty (and pretty expensive). With the launch of Lord of Hatred, each Diablo 4 class was given one of the iconic World of Warcraft Tier 2 armor sets to slay demons with, along with Diablo’s excellent armor dye system that lets us swap between color schemes at the click of a mouse — and the Diablo 4 recolors are amazing!

But also amazingly expensive. Individual cosmetic sets can be purchased for 2800 Platinum each (or $24.99 USD), or you can snag the entire bundle of the Tier 2 armor sets for 5700 Platinum (or $49.99 USD), each of which includes an iconic vanilla-era weapon to match. Here are the Tier 2 armor sets for sale in this Diablo x Warcraft crossover:

  • Barbarian gets the Battlegear of Wrath. You want blades on your shoulders? How about your helmet? It’s got you covered.
  • Paladin gets Judgement Armor. Judgement has never looked this good, and I’m not even joking. If you’re a Paladin at heart, this is amazing.
  • Warlock gets Nemesis Raiment, with all of the classic fel greens and fel burning shoulders. It’s iconic, and it looks great in Diablo!
  • Druid gets Stormrage Raiment. Pretend you’re Malfurion as you run around Sanctuary with gigantic moose antlers which, let’s be honest, has got to catch the wind and put a lot of strain on your neck.
  • Rogue gets Bloodfang Armor. Anyone who played early World of Warcraft was probably murdered by a Rogue wearing this armor set in PVP at least once.
  • Necromancer gets Pale Rider’s Eternal Armor. That’s right, Necromancers get to run around as a Death Knight, as Blizzard used the rather cool armor they added to World of Warcraft during the 20th anniversary event.
  • Sorcerer gets Netherwind Regalia, taking the iconic Mage set. Feel like murdering demons wearing the brightest pink that you can? This cotton candy set is all you.
  • Spiritborn gets The Ten Storms, a redesigned version of the Ten Storms Tier 2 shaman set. It’s not 100% identical, but it’s so close you probably wont notice the difference. It has those really cool wolf shoulders too!

But that isn’t all, and there are a lot more Warcraft-themed rewards to spend money on during this crossover event. Basilisk mounts were added in Lord of Hatred, and Blizzard wants to make sure you have additional looks available (for money, of course). Both of these mounts cost 2800 platinum:

  • Reins of the Vanquisher is a basilisk mount that looks like everyone’s favorite undead dragon Sindragosa; this allows the icy winds of Northrend to betraaaay yooooou in Sanctuary! I’ll be honest, I find the posture of this mount strange (due to it being on the basilisk frame), so I don’t really feel it’s worth the asking price of 2800 Platinum!
  • Reins of the Raven Lord looks really good. Admittedly I am a huge fan of this mount in Warcraft, and it was something I spent quite some time farming in WoW ; in Diablo 4 the mount is a wonderfully upscaled version with quite spectacular lighting effects on the feathers that make them shimmer between dark blue and purple.

There are also two pets available for 2500 platinum, both of which are bundled with a nameplate and a mount trophy:

  • Ruler of the Firelands, our old friend Ragnaros, looking a lot like a more high definition version of the Lil’ Ragnaros Warcraft pet, while Savior of the Shores
  • Savior of the Shores pet is a murloc wearing Tyrael’s angelic armor.

The pets are nice, but if you have to decide between spending your paycheck on one of the mounts, one of the above armor sets, or one of the pets? The pets are a losing proposition every time.

A Warcraft Reliquary is also available, including paid and free rewards that you can earn through gameplay. Unlike the recent DOOM Reliquary, the Warcraft version is only partially free: six rewards can be unlocked for free, but you’ll need to spend 1000 Platinum ($9.99 USD) to unlock the rest. Whether you buy the full Reliquary or not, all rewards are purchased with the in-game currency drop Relic of Azeroth (which drops fairly regularly off elite mobs). The free rewards include:

  • A Warcraft nameplate
  • Horde and Alliance mount trophies
  • The Spirit Healer headstone (if nothing else make sure to get this, it’s awesome)
  • One-handed sword The Hungering Cold (a Death Knight favorite)
  • Zin’rokh, Destroyer of Worlds, everyone’s favorite Hunter weapon

If you pay to unlock the full Reliquary, you can also get:

Unlock everything, and you also unlock Hakkar the Soulflayer as a pet. I’m bummed that we don’t get this entire Reliquary for free, but the paid cosmetics in it were worth it to me, and may be for you too.

In addition to these new items, the previous Warcraft crossover cosmetics have returned, with armor sets themed after iconic Warcraft heroes (and villains) for each class. Each set is available for 2800 Platinum, and must be purchased individually. I will say that some of them are pretty uninspired, the Jaina one especially doesn’t look great (in my opinion); the newer sets really feel like they put far more work into them.

None of these cosmetic sets are so great that you should skip buying yourself dinner over, so maybe take a look at them and then give it 24-48 hours before you decide to bite the bullet and purchase them. Just for reference, the cost of the cosmetic armor bundle and the Reliquary (but not the mounts or pets) is equal to the cost of two copies of Slay the Spire 2 and a copy of Vampire Crawlers, or the newly released PRAGMATA, or even Baldur’s Gate 3! Maybe if the sets weren’t class locked I’d give them a little more leeway, but at this price along with the strict cosmetic rules in place, it’s really more of a win for Blizzard’s profit margins than it is for your wallet.

That said, no one said looking good was going to be cheap. It certainly isn’t in Diablo 4.

The Warcraft x Diablo crossover promotion ends on June 29th, 2026.
