It’s a long maintenance day for World of Warcraft, but all servers are back online — and early!

It’s maintenance day for World of Warcraft, and it’s extended maintenance for everybody. All World of Warcraft realms are scheduled to be offline for four hours this morning. Well, it could be worse.

Here’s the WoW maintenance schedule for Tuesday, March 19:

  • Midnight: Offline from 7am – 11am pacific (10am – 2pm eastern)
  • Mists of Pandaria Classic: Offline from 7am – 11am pacific (10am – 2pm eastern)
  • WoW Classic (including Classic Era, Season of Discovery, and Hardcore realms): Offline from 7am – 11am pacific (10am – 2pm eastern)
  • The Burning Crusade Classic Anniversary realms: Offline from 7am – 11am pacific (10am – 2pm eastern)

All World of Warcraft servers are back online, and a little early at that. Servers came back up at around 10:15am pacific (1:15pm eastern), and though I initially had an error message when trying to launch the game client, it resolved itself on relaunch. (If you’re getting a CAS system error, restart Battle.net, wait for any downloads to finish, and then try launching the game again.) Realms appear to be stable.

As is typical, Blizzard hasn’t announced what this long maintenance is for, though it overlaps with Blizzard Services maintenance from 9am – 10am pacific (12pm – 1pm eastern). This type of maintenance doesn’t typically require downtime, though it can cause login issues and disconnects across Blizzard games. (This unfortunately means that if you planned to play other Blizzard games while WoW is offline, you may have connection issues during this period.)

Nothing in particular is planned for Warcraft this week. Midnight is rolling out a small patch to nerf the March on Quel’Danas raid, but it’s not the type of change that would require significant downtime. The Burning Crusade Classic servers rolled out Phase 2 last week, and Mists of Pandaria Classic Phase 5 is scheduled for June 2. Other than this maintenance it’s supposedly a quiet week.

All World of Warcraft servers are back online, so I’ll see you in Azeroth soon!
