How to watch the Mythic raiding Race to World First: Venomous Abyss

We’re a week into the second season of Midnight, and that means that we’re staring down the barrel of another Mythic raiding Race to World First! The top guilds will all be taking their talents into the Venomous Abyss and proving that they’re the best snake charmers out there. They’ll have eight bosses to clear this time to prove that they’re the best in the world at World of Warcraft. It could be anyone’s race; we’ve seen the top three guilds all come within spitting distance of each other in the last few races. Liquid has been on a fantastic roll, taking first place for the last five races, but Echo was always one good pull away from taking it out from under them. Method has been a little further back, but not by much, and they’ve more than proven they could be first.

The Race to World First has been going on since Battle for Azeroth as a community-led event and, as such, has no direct involvement from Blizzard. Guilds are doing this for the bragging rights and nothing more. Who doesn’t want to be able to say that they’re the best raider in the world? Since there’s no official schedule, and the raid time unlocks differently around the world depending on your server, there’s no single place to watch the event go down. We’ll see fully produced streams from the top three guilds with raiders all playing from the same location and commentary from community figures and experts.

Unlike the first tier of Midnight that had three different raid instances, the Venomous Abyss will be the only raiding destination this time, which I’m sure the raiders and raid leaders are happy about. Having the different locations last time led to some extra split running from the guilds, as the first two instances were a lot easier than the Sunwell. The guilds could actually run Mythic splits in them and use that to get even more power to eventually take on L’ura, which was necessary, but didn’t make for the most amazing viewing. This time they won’t be able to take that extra step and will have to rely on all of their own skill to succeed.

Team Liquid Guild

Liquid are the big dogs to beat. They’ve racked up victory after victory and have done so all while fielding the best-produced event of the three major guilds. This race looks like they’ll be running their full team out of the same building, and that’s gotta be a great boost to performance. Everybody will be there to celebrate the victories and cheer each other on. They’ll have all of their usual casters on hand to do commentary, and you’ll be able to watch their raid leader, Maximum, specifically if you want to see his point of view as he calls out mechanics.

Echo Guild

Echo came so close to winning the last race, and now they have their shot at revenge. They’ll even be doing another watch party event on August 29, 2026, in Cologne. It’s very possible that they’ll be pulling Ulu’tek by then, so you could be in a room with a bunch of other fans as the race is won! Echo will also be supporting Games for Love again in this race, and is looking to give some money to a great cause with your help.

Method Guild

Method wants to prove that they have what it takes to be number one. They haven’t had a first-place finish since Battle for Azeroth, and that’s got to be weighing heavily on them. Like the other guilds, they’ll be raiding together from a central location and offering big gold payouts for players who can help them with their splits. I bet there are lots of WoW millionaires out there because of being able to help these RWF guilds with their gearing.
