The best cosplay that I came across at BlizzCon 2026

There are a great many dimensions that make gatherings of nerds charming and fun, and perhaps none put a smile on the faces of passersby better than cosplay. As usual, the folks who poured dozens (or hundreds) of hours into meticulously crafted real-life transmog did not disappoint at BlizzCon 2026.

This is but a small slice of the entire con and by no means exhaustive, but I couldn’t help but share some of the favorite looks that I happened upon.

The Darkmoon Faire line was long, so I never managed to actually get inside between rounds of  World of Warcraft: Forever demos. My consolation prize was getting to see a fantastic Darkmoon Harlequin’s Bells. I hope High Inquisitor Whitemane fared better — my favorite part of her ensemble was the crystal floating inside the top of her staff.

In a way it’s hard to compare cosplays, because they are all labors of love and spark so much joy. In another way, Sparkz was the winner in Ceremonial Jacaranda Regalia wielding a Sunny Floral Staff. At Commuinity Night, this took both the Epic FX and Best in Show. I caught up with Sparkz just after to admire the rhinestone work up close, and it was every bit as impressive as it looked on stage.

It’s been decades, but Judgment is such a fan favorite armor set that I lost count of how many awesome tributes I saw. This one came complete with an Ashbringer.

It’s always good to see Alliance soldiers getting time off to pursue their hobbies. Although you probably end up getting roped into crowd control.

Filing out of the opening ceremonies I was feeling a little nauseous, but it turned out that the guy behind me had a Corrupted Ashbringer. The glowing effect looked awesome in the low light of the demo floor.

At BlizzCon, your armament can be as important as your outfit. I saw several Jaina Proudmoores, and this one’s glowing staff matched the blue lighting on the con floor flawlessly.

Sometimes you want to be the adventurer, sometimes you just want to kick back and send other people to do your bidding. I was drawn instinctively to all con-goers with yellow exclamation points or question marks above their heads, but this was the only quest-giver lugging around a treasure chest of rewards.

I had to double back down the escalator to get a good picture of Wrathion, but I am really glad I didn’t miss getting a chance to look at Succession up close.

Every single one of the cosplays at BlizzCon left me in awe of the craftsmanship and attention to detail. This Alesxstraza ensemble looks like it has about fifty distinct pieces and came straight from a Dragonflight movie set.

The Banshee Queen is always watching, and the handful of Sylvanas Windrunner outfits I saw were all incredible. I really liked the intricate skulls on the pauldrons of this one.

The Church of Pepe was recruiting on the con floor! Their belief system seemed to boil down to “Pepe is good.” I’ve heard enough, sign me up!
