Apexis Crystal changes coming in patch 6.1

Changes are in the works for Apexis Crystals in patch 6.1 — most notably, the gear on Apexis traders in both Stormshield and Warspear is getting a facelift, and players will now be able to trade up to ilvl 670 items. This brings the gear on par with the kind of gear you’ll find in Blackrock Foundry, and it’s nice to see that efforts are being made to keep that Apexis gear current with the latest gear available in the expansion. Some changes have been made to obtaining Apexis Crystals as well. You’ll be able to send your followers out on new missions that offer Apexis Crystals as a reward.  In addition, you’ll be able to purchase new scouting missives for garrison resources. These missives are quest items that will unlock an additional daily quest for Apexis Crystals — it’s like having multiple War Table missions on the same day.

Sadly, the days of teaming up in raids to complete these daily missions are about to come to an end. A change is being made to questing, and while players can still use the group finder to put together a team of five players and complete the quests that way, you will no longer be able to work on and complete quests while in a raid group. However, Apexis Crystals will still drop from enemies, so while you won’t be able to team up in a raid to complete the quest, if all you’re after is simply a good dose of Apexis Crystal farming, you can still create a raid group to do so. Despite the change, the fact that there are new methods to obtain crystals via missions and dailies means that players should be able to farm up a sizeable collection of the items with little difficulty.
