Moviewatch: Board Clear

Hearthstone machinima is a rare beast. You can’t do much with tokens on a gameboard. However, Drew Carrymore brings us Board Clear, a delightful mishap the result of Gul’dan and Jaina going toe-to-toe in the tavern.

Board Clear was made with Source Filmmaker, a machinima tool used in most modern machinima outside of the World of Warcraft community. Being a tool release by Valve, it’s particularly popular in the Dota 2 and Team Fortress 2 communities. This appears to be Drew Carrymore’s first Hearthstone or World of Warcraft SFM video, but is no stranger to the tool, having used it in Dota 2 machinima previously. Board Clear keeps its gag brief, and in my opinion, is the better for it — there’s no time wasted here. The Grim Patron gawkers are a nice touch. And is it just me, or does Jaina look a little … sloshed?
