Breakfast Topic: Strong opinions

There’s one thing that I’ve learned about MMO players — they all have very strong opinions.

Yes, this is a blanket statement and I’m painting an entire group of people with one brush. But trust me on this one; if someone plays an MMO for any serious amount of time, they’re going to have opinions on the MMO. They’re going to think that the game should behave in a certain way, that people should act like them, and that they are (rightly or wrongly) entitled to certain things. Even us so called “adults” have these strong opinions. I think that the game should encourage fun and change, that people should treat everyone like a human being , and that I’m entitled (after over a decade of WoW) to finally get the damn tiger mount to drop in ZG.

One thing that I do find curious, however, is how often these strong opinions align. If you get a group of raiders together that are progressing through mythic, they’re probably all going to have some strong opinions about how hard it is to recruit other good players like them. And there is a growing amount of players who are also simply content with the game and want to see it continue on; the strong opinions here is that life is good and everyone should just chill.
