The Queue: I might be Matt, who can say anymore?
Am I a Dakotaraptor? A Tyrannosaur in a Santa hat? Sargeras? Ashkandi?
That one. I’m definitely Ashkandi.
This is the Queue. Let’s chat.
I think the Paladin class hall looked best when I visited on my DK
Warrior hall is prettier.
I really hope they make night elf paladins playable in the next expansion. I really want to race change my pally to a NE so I can make my warrior a Draenei for the sweet staff attack animations.
I was thinking about this today and I realized that there’s one race they could add to WoW that would get me to race change in a heartbeat, and it’s Vrykul, because my nelf Warrior would immediately become a Vrykul. Like, that second. I have a Draenei, a Worgen and a Human Warrior at 110 so I know I could spare one of them, too.
I currently have a female Night Elf Warrior and a female Night Elf Death Knight, and both can transmog to a lot of Paladin gear. I think Night Elf Paladin would be a pretty good option, honestly.
After seeing the BlizzCon mounts, I was having a debate about buying it. Was I going to spend $40 on two of the greatest mounts ever in game? Was I going to convince myself I wanted to watch Blizzcon, and it was worth the money, and the mounts were a nice bonus?
I get home, and my wife, who is an avid mount collector, says, “I bought a Blizzcon virtual ticket.”
So now, I don’t need to buy a ticket to watch it. I can use hers. I would strictly be dropping the cash for the mounts. And this is a limited time offer, a couple weeks or months after Blizzcon, I can no longer buy it, and those mounts are lost to me forever. I suppose I can wait to see what other virtual goodies they put out, but unless there’s also a murloc pet, I can’t imagine there’s anything more for WoW, and I don’t really play their other games.
Before I get started, I know I’m going to get the Virtual Ticket, but I don’t care about those mounts so I’ll probably let my wife have them.
That said, you sound to me like you already know you want them and so you’re trying to talk yourself out of it because you feel like spending $40 on mounts is wrong. Well, that’s up to you, but in my opinion life is short and you might as well enjoy things. If the mounts would bring you enjoyment, that’s $40 well spent.
Random QftQ: What stories of real people in history would you like to see as a live-action movie?
It can be anything–action!war hero or comedic!spy or romantic!emperors!
And…go!
Too many to list, but for brevity’s sake I’ll pare it down to one.
Bill Finger.
Bill Finger didn’t invent Batman. He just invented everything recognizable about him. The cape and cowl, the general outline of the costume, the deaths of the Waynes, most of the original villains and supporting cast, Robin… much of what makes Batman someone you’d recognize comes from Finger. And he got pretty royally ripped off for his trouble. You can check out Batman and Bill, the documentary about how it all went down, if you’re interested.
Up until now, we’ve gotten an expansion announcement every other year and an expansion every other year, meaning we are probably due for an announcement at Blizcon, right? Do we ever get confirmation that an announcement will or won’t happen at Blizzcon?
“We’re considering a little bit longer of an expansion pack process with more patches, so that we can tell a better story” – Jeremy Feasel
Has Legion’s story run its course? When he said “longer” does that mean they’re just planning real patches between announcement and release? Or is there a chance that they might break their every other year announcement streak?
They have not said “We’re doing an expansion announcement at BlizzCon” and to be honest the only time we ever knew in advance of BlizzCon that they would do so was the year they announced it at Gamescom. All previous years we suspected announcements but didn’t know for sure. And I expect that will be the case this year as well.
Knowing how Antorus ends, I find it extremely unlikely we won’t get an expansion announcement at this year’s BlizzCon. I am always aware that I can be wrong, but that’s my gut feeling. I believe there will be an expansion announcement this year.
I definitely feel that the story of the Burning Legion and its invasion of Azeroth runs its course in Antorus. We could certainly get a part or even two that dealt with side issues, but 7.3 feels very much like the satisfying conclusion to this expansion’s main storyline.
We haven’t gotten a new race since Mists, isn’t it about time?
I talked earlier about wanting playable Vrykul, so it’s fairly safe to say I can think of a few races we could include by now. The old standby candidates — Ogres, Naga, Vrykul, Ethereals — have appeared in one of the last two expansions (Ogres in Warlords, Naga, Vrykul and now Ethereals in Legion) so there’s been fairly recent work on all of them, model wise.
I mean, I could sit here and list possible candidates all day long. Arakkoa, Furbolg, Jinyu, Hozen, Murlocs, Centaur, Gnolls, Quillboars, but I keep thinking that we already have a lot of playable races in WoW. We’re up to seven per faction, and thirteen total since one race is playable by both factions. Adding one more playable by both would put us up to fourteen, and two (one per faction) would take us up to fifteen. That’s a lot.
I mean, I still want Vrykul for Alliance and Ogres for Horde, but I don’t know if I think we’ll get another new race any time soon.
Okay, that’s the Queue for today. If I am who I think I am I should be back next Friday. Take care everybody.
