The Queue: Sploosh-o-matic
Another month, another Splatfest. Here in North America, it was a battle of which bad holiday present you would prefer to receive: socks or sweaters? At first, I was leaning Team Sweater because bad holiday sweaters are a sort-of pastime, and you should always have at least one for the holidays. Then, as many pointed out, I realized socks could be worn year round, and could also be hidden easily. So I went Team Socks.
My preferred weapon of deadly inking remains the close-range Sploosh-o-matic. It’s a very serious weapon.
Oh mighty Mitch, what’s your overall feeling of Antorus? Favourite fight? Least Favourite? Any Mechanic you feel is missing?
I haven’t had a chance to clear everything yet (#FilthyCasual) but so far… I’m a little underwhelmed, I guess. That’s more a testament to the design team’s excellent past raids than it is to their Antorus design, but a lot of the fights don’t feel super unique to me.
Favorite so far, though? Probably the Portal-Keeper. Least favorite — and sadly, the one I had the highest hopes for — is “Tower Defense”Eonar. I’m all for the encounter designers trying new things, but I think this one just worked better in idea than execution. Can’t win ’em all, though.
Oh, and as always, I want more fights that require a ranged tank. Come on, Blizz, make it happen!
Q4tMitch: I’ve been saving up the tokens I get when every time you answer one of my questions, what prizes can I trade these in for?
Uhhh… what do you want? Would a personalized tentacle be cool? Too weird? Not weird enough? I’ll let you folks give me ideas for #MitchCoin redeemables.
Q4Q: If the next few expansions will focus on Old Gods (now that the Legion is defeated) – what is there after that?
Obviously, after the Old Gods defeat us puny mortals, every expansion after that will focus on us aiding them in their conquest across the universe. We will spread the Void and make the universe know who the truly immortal, all-powerful beings are.
Q4tQ: I am now down to one toon to level. What should I do?
The waiting game for allied races has put a stop to some of them.
Outside of leveling that one toon? Try some other Blizzard games. Achievement hunt. Transmog farm. Try some non-Blizzard games, even! In general, pick something you haven’t tried before and then try it.
Any guess on if we will have to pay extra for classic WoW? I know nobody knows much yet but you think players will pay extra to play classic WoW if they do charge for it?
Oh, we’ll absolutely have to pay for Classic WoW. My guess is we’ll see it either as a standalone monthly charge (like $10-$15 per month) or as a slightly lower add-on charge to a regular WoW subscription. I’m not entirely convinced Classic servers are a net gain for Blizzard, so they’re more than certainly going to find a way to offset that as much as possible. And Blizzard’s purchasable goods aren’t exactly cheap.
Shoulda gone with my first instinct, huh?
Q4Q, would you pay for the Tmog option to have 1 handers sheath on your back like monks for your other specs?, if so how much gold/cash do you think it would be worth?
No way would I pay real-life cash for something like that — and I think Blizzard learned their lesson about cosmetic purchasables from their cosmetic-helm venture way back when — but gold? Eh, probably not either, on principle.
I don’t think transmog or in-game customization of that nature is the sort of thing Blizzard should charge for, at least not in terms of unlocking it. Want to make it cost a little more to transmog a weapon to a special angle? Sure. Charging a one-time fee to unlock it would do more harm than good (even if the overall cost was cheaper).
How many Kobolds have you killed since the new Hearthstone expansion dropped Mitch? HOW MANY!?
I… haven’t played the new Hearthstone expansion. I want to, because I hear universally great things, but I just haven’t. Hearthstone is a bit lower on my list of game priorities in general, and I’ve been extra hooked on HotS lately soooo… yeah. I’ll play at some point, I’m sure.
Q4Q: Hot Cocoa: Whipped Cream, Marshmallows, or Both? Cinnamon, Nutmeg, Cayenne, or Other?
Whipped cream and marshmallows for sure. I’ve never tried cayenne in mine… actually, come to think of it, I don’t know if I’ve tried hot cocoa with any of those spices. I do, however, put in a bit of half and half — it makes the whole thing taste richer and more chocolaty.
2BE: Ordos vs Majordomo Staghelm
Ordos is a giant, glorified Yaungol who uses a big ol’ weapon and some fire to hurt people (and himself). Staghelm is the reason we have flame kitties and fire scorps. Moreover, he has cunning — Ordos wouldn’t stand a chance.
Have a great Tuesday, folks.
