The Queue: I need more barely-there chest armor
I think it was Scott Leyes who said it a Queue or two ago, but man, now that I have a couple of Lightforged I’m leveling I’m very disappointed in my lack of chest armor that shows off these tattoos. I mean, I went and got myself pretty significant Light tats and I can’t show them. You can barely see them in the Warleader’s armor set I’ve got on there. I’ve also tried it in the Exalted set, it’s not much better really. And since my two Lightforged are male, it’s even worse — sets that are like bikinis on women, like the Jade set, are just giant BP’s on dudes and that’s not fair. I need to show this beef off.
Anyway, here’s the Queue. I’m a grown man worrying that I can’t dress my video game character skimpily enough. Keep in mind I need pieces at or below level 60, these guys aren’t into BC/Wrath era content yet.
Q4tQ: How do you think the return of the API will affect the WoW in-game economy?
I am not even an in-game economist. So I’ll be wildly speculating here, but I think it’ll likely get a touch more lively as people will be able to flip auctions more efficiently while they’re somewhere other than at their computer. I have a lot of friends who do a lot of auction business moving greens for transmog and I’m sure they’re ecstatic right now.
I’ve definitely noticed some old favorites available — here’s my Tauren in most of the old Exalted set. Still can’t get that BP, but the Brutish piece pretty much fills the color palette okay.
As for other things like WoW token sales and the crafting market, I can only assume those will also see more activity.
Q4TQ For Rossi:
I’m leveling a Void Elf Warrior and it seems since I hit Northrend my self heal as an Arms Warrior is less than stellar thanks to how the quests work. How do you work around the “everyone can tag/kill” and still being able to live through mobs of 8 or whatever.
I seriously have found grouping a serious death threat because if I don’t kill the mob I can’t heal and I find it counter productive to an MMO where we should group to complete objectives.
Now I was lucky to have a feral druid who could off-heal me for some quests but still it seems a problem for people who solo or for those who don’t have a healer.
Oooh, yeah, I hate that with Victory Rush. Someone comes along and tags my mob and get the killing blow and I end up muttering to myself under my breath as my health drains away.
If you can combine Shockwave with Second Wind, one trick I use is to Shockwave stun, Heroic Leap away from the mobs, and run my big butt (usually my characters are Tauren or Draenei, they have large backsides) away as fast as I can until Second Wind starts healing me up. Even one or two ticks are usually good enough for me to jump back into the fray. Also, remember you have Die by the Sword at level 38 — if combined just right with Shockwave, you can stun a group, then as soon as they come out of stun hit DbtS and get a few ticks of Second Wind healing before it wears off.
Second Wind is a level 60 talent, so if you’re in Northrend I assume you’re at least level 60. If you don’t have it? Take it. It is the best leveling talent Arms Warriors have. Second Wind will keep you alive. All you need to do is not take damage for five seconds and you’ll start to heal up, 6% of your health every second. Considering the duration of Die by the Sword is 8 seconds, a good Shockwave/DbtS combo can give you 10 seconds when nobody is hitting you, and thus 5 seconds of Second Wind healing, at 6% of your health every second. It can absolutely save your life. If you time it perfectly it’s actually 11 seconds, but I never assume perfect timing.
So that’s my advice — make sure you have Second Wind and start using Shockwave, Heroic Leap and Die by the Sword proactively to get passive healing in dicey situations.
Who do you think will be the new overwatch hero coming next month? Harold Winston, Liao, Hammond, that random vishkar guy?
I would very much like it if it was Brigitte Lindholm. I have no idea what her powerset and such would be — perhaps an anti-Sombra who fixes things and could provide a new kind of healing while also smashing things with her blacksmith’s hammer? I’m just blue skying here, I really have no idea, but I think she’s cool and I’d like to see more of her.
Q4tQ: What are your thoughts on a new warrior glyph for BfA: The glyph of Strom’kar. This would allow you to keep the cosmetic affect of fearing trolls after losing your artifact weapon
I would love it, but I don’t think we’ll see it — there are likely going to be a lot of Trolls in World Quests and the like once we’re all max level and Alliance players are doing Warfronts and such on the Zandalari zones. Maybe if the glyph was limited to Legion and below content, but I still wouldn’t expect to see it.
And man, a Zandalari Troll using Strom’kar must feel like he needs a bath afterwards.
Is Winterfall Firewater still a thing people want?
The answer seems to be “It depends” — on the server I play the most on, it’s going for between 2 and 3g a vial. Even the Darkmoon version isn’t going for much more. But it’s probably something that varies by server, by time of day, and by whether or not anybody feels like farming for it. I know I still like popping a vial of it on my Tauren when I’m out and about.
I’m facing a major lack of motivation to log into the game lately. Compounded by a lack of motivation to pre-order BFA. I mean, I have all my reps at exalted, it’s just the thought of leveling yet another toon to max level… >_<
Anyone else in the same boat?
I thought I was. But then I did it, and I rolled this guy.
That is a Lightforged Paladin. And seriously I’m having a ball on him, doing zones I haven’t done since forever and really experiencing the story in them. Because of the leveling changes I don’t have to leave before I finish a zone’s story — I’ve done Duskwood, Ashenvale and Stonetalon so far and I’ve really enjoyed getting to finally see how it all works out.
I also have a Warrior I’m leveling (of course I do) and even that’s fun. I actually did all of Westfall for the first time since Cataclysm and I have to say I actually like the story a lot more now that it’s been a while. In fact, I regret using my 110 boost instead of just leveling my Highmountain. Leveling is fun now. Not just something I do to get another Warrior.
Also, when did Ret Paladins get fun? I really enjoy the guy. I likely won’t keep going once we hit 110, but until then he’s a ton of fun.
Okay, that’s the Queue for today. Again, any suggestions of revealing chestplates are welcome.
I’m so tempted to just go around like this the whole leveling time and just take the stat hit.
