The Queue: Your drab eyes seem to invite
Hello, Queue. I hope this Tuesday finds you well.
With the addition of Yrel to Heroes, what’s now your dream team of five characters currently available in-game?
*Val, you can’t say five Lunaras. Only one time per character allowed.
Man, there are so many good possibilities, it’s hard to pick. I’m not sure if you mean five that would still work as a composition or just five in general I want to see teamed up. I think you mean the latter, but just in case, I’ll do both.
- Composition: Arthas, Valeera, Kel’Thuzad, Alexstrasza, and Abathur.
- Badasses unite: Alarak, Kel’Thuzad, Abathur, Sylvanas, and Auriel.
Okay, that didn’t quite work how I wanted. Both lists are pretty similar and I could’ve easily swapped Heroes from each and been happy. Oh well. I like these!
Q4tMitch: are you the last Zerg cerebrate? Your mental presence commands entire legions. You have a fondness for making animals sprout tentacles and spines. Those who oppose you seem to be under the false impression that you can be slain by mortal means (Zeratul is gone now, you have achieve true immortality).
-There must always be… a Mitch Queue
Q4tQ: a real Q this time. Does anyone else feel that anything but ‘exalted’ rep is basically pointless? Honored and Revered reward you with, gear that is obsolete after launch and probably a combat pet. Sometimes you get profession recipes, but considering the state of professions in Legion those are functionally worthless.
‘Revered’ to me, feels like a mile marker stating “You are still this far from your goal”.
I am beyond Zerg. I am beyond Protoss. I am beyond Terran. But I am also all of these things.
Regarding reputation… yeah, I mean, it would be worse (mentally) to see 42,000 reputation before you got anything. Having specific milestones helps make the journey more digestible. And if you’re going to have milestones, why not add small perks here and there?
That said, I would be okay if reputation took longer to get and the milestone rewards felt a lot better.
Q4tQ:
Which Title should I use on my Orc Warrior? Conqueror or Warlord of Draenor?
I’m leaning toward Conqueror because it is character specific, but I’d like some more opinions.
They’re both good titles, to be honest. You could always change titles depending on the occasion. I’ll occasionally change my title when I run BGs or if the season calls for it. That said, I prefer Conqueror because it seems more intimidating, especially with BFA on the horizon.
QftQ: If you could get/give a postcard from any place in WoW… or I suppose the Blizzard universe in general, where would it be?
Y’know, it wouldn’t have to be anywhere crazy looking or touristy or anything like that. The first place that jumped to mind was honestly the little spot of land to the south of Silithus, looking out on the water. It seems like a nice “edge of the world” spot to watch the sun set over the water.
But WoW has a lot of underrated spots like this. This is just the first to come to my mind.
Q4TQ: Now that Yrel is coming to Heroes of the Storm, which character would you like to see next?
Just give me a Shadow Priest. Ishaal, Natalie Seline, I don’t care. I just want to play a Shadow Priest in HotS.
Q4tQ: So, uh… I’m not prying into anything personal here, just observing as a fan of the site, but… you guys ok over there?
There have been multiple off-schedule queue posts (I missed this one’s post time because I didn’t see a twitter post), we skipped the podcast last week, sometimes the queues only answer like 2-3 user questions, or the rotation of writers (which I’ve noticed sometimes motivates which questions get asked) have been scrambled. These are noticeable, “destination” features and I figure that’s likely well known, so I’d have to think there’d be something wrong to cause these bumps in the road… so not as someone really “complaining,” but more as someone concerned for a favorite site and its staff, please take this in the best of lights (as intended) as I ask… you guys ok?
In order…
- Off-schedule Queue posts happen occasionally, and the reason varies from writer to writer. I don’t know why Adam’s have been pushed back sometimes, I don’t entirely know why Liz’s have. Mine last week was because I apparently shut off my alarm. When The Queue won’t be out at noon, we’ll usually swap it for what was in our 2:00 p.m. slot. As a result, even if it’s done at, say, 12:26 p.m., it doesn’t go live until a solid while after its normal time. This isn’t always the case, but it happens.
- Podcast was skipped last week because Anne was on vacation. She does all the recording and editing and all that — if I had been out, for example, they could’ve probably gotten someone to cover. Anne’s harder to say that about.
- How many questions are answered depends both on the writer as well as the questions that are available. I have my own methodology for picking out questions, and I have my own personal quota I like to hit. Does that mean I say anything more meaningful than Queues with fewer answers? No. SPencer and Jay get a question in every week (it’s basically tradition at this point), but is a 2BE as valuable as one of Adam’s super insightful behind-the-scenes answers? That’s up to the individual reader to decide.
- Yes, I realize this answer is a slight BTS. Just forget that.
- Writers swapping Queues happens for the same reason Queues go off-schedule. Something comes up last-minute and we get someone to cover. Someone won’t be here on their day, so they swap. So forth.
As for “Are you guys okay?” — yup!
Oooo Blizzard is retiring 32 bit support. They suggest to upgrade to 64 bit by July 1st. Any guess on prepatch day?
Logically, that gives us July 3 or 10 for the pre-patch. And those give us 6 and 5 weeks, respectively before BFA’s launch. I’m leaning toward July 3 just so we have more pre-patch time, but it could very well be July 10.
2BE: Harley Yrel and JokeRat vs Wastewalker Deckard and MadAxe Garrosh
I like both Yrel and Deckard a whole lot, but I dislike Junkrat more than Garrosh. So, I’m giving this one to Deckard and Garrosh. Plus, Warrior/Support > Warrior/Assassin. Don’t provide examples where that’s not true. I WON’T LISTEN!
Hey, look, I finished The Queue before bed! I’m so good at life.
