The Queue: Larger than expected
Man, I really love how wonky the beta can get. I don’t know what this player did to make the Brutosaur mount so giant, but I appreciate it. But giant mounts are probably the last things on your mind right now — because it’s patch day!
At the time of this writing, I have no idea if the servers are up already or if we’ll be facing extended maintenance. Whatever the case, here’s a The Queue to hold you over!
I think I’m excited for tomorrow because it means the mage tower debate will be over.
I know there are lots of mixed emotions, but for those who found it eternally frustrating why did you keep trying? I find arena super frustrating, so despite wanting the seasonal elite sets so much I just don’t do it. If it’s unenjoyable content then why not just not do it in the first place?
Is it the community pressure? The appearances can be pretty cool but surely there are other weapons that catch your eye just as much?
I’m not actually one of the people you’re addressing here, but I used to be. Part of it was because I didn’t want to feel like I’d missed out on anything, the other part was that I didn’t want to not have the option there in the future. Even if I know I’m never going to use something, I hate the idea of not being able to choose not to use that something. It’s entirely psychological, but maybe that’s just me. Granted, I’ve gotten better about not sweating the small stuff — which is precisely why this question is better for Past Mitch than current Mitch.
QftQ: Who do you think will be the faction leaders other than Anduin and Sylvanas that will have the most prominent roles in BfA overall? Who would have the most conversation with adversaries such as Azshara?
For example, I think Velen stole the spotlight (along with Illidan) at the end of Legion.
Well, I’m not sure if this entirely counts, but Genn and Nathanos are likely to be featured prominently, as they both serve at the side of their respective leaders. Jaina is also a fairly easy “gimme,” since we’ve already seen Blizzard put her in the spotlight.
Besides them, Tyrande would be a good option both because of the Burning of Teldrassil and because she could have interesting dialog with Azshara. I also have a feeling Saurfang will gain prominence by the end, for one reason or another. I’m curious how much more we’ll see of Alleria and Turalyon — we got a lot in Legion, but Alleria’s story feels like it’s just starting.
Q4tMitch: oh you’re gonna have options today mister!
1) Xal’atath is gone, and Spriests still want weapons made of old god body parts, Mitch. Seeing as Old Gods have regenerative properties *pats medical tray containing scalpels, syringes, and a hacksaw* Is there any chance you’re in a giving mood today?
2) You’re put in charge of replacing all the Druid forms, what terrible forms do druids now assume for their roles?
3) Xal’atath reshaped itself into a crown, and is struggling to implant itself in the skull of Sylvanas (what a twist). On the day of your wedding no less. Do you intervene, or let knaifu claim her new body?
4) It’s been explained to us how we unlock our mage tower appearance, but what about our Mitch tower appearances?
5) If Liz is gonna be playing switcheroo with her queue days, how am I meant to know when to put dog pics in the queue?

- I trust Knaifu’s will, but I would try to suggest an alternative. I think we could come to an agreement somehow.

- Always include dog pics! But also always include an alternate version of the picture with the pupper Old God-ified.

Q4tQ: Will we be able to unlock the PvP artifact appearance after Battle for Azeroth goes live?
Yup! Well, assuming you mean the one for Prestige ranks. The “win ten RBGs after unlocking a Challenge appearance” will not be available if you didn’t complete the Mage Tower before today. Basically, if you earned your base-level Mage Tower appearance, all Artifact appearances can be earned during Battle for Azeroth. If you didn’t earn it, you won’t be able to unlock it or any of its tints.
Ok so before we finally get everything revealed / cleared up tomorrow, which of those (quite unlikely) statements do you think is most probable?
1) Malfurion will die
2) Vareesa will die
3) Saurfang is responsible for burning Teldrassil
4) Malfurion is responsible for burning Teldrassil
In order of most to least likely (in my mind)… 1 >= 4 > 2 >>> 3
Q4tQ: Are there any timed exclusive items associated with the 8.0 pre-expansion content? I know the Legion invasions had the transmog, but I couldn’t find anything similar for BfA.
Bonus question: Are you switching Warmode on tomorrow? Keeping it on for leveling in BfA?
To your first question: I genuinely don’t know. I don’t think there are, but if it turns out some items are exclusive to the ~month from now until BFA’s launch, I’ll make sure we write a post on them. Anne pointed out that there’s a mount to be earned from completing the Burning of Teldrassil/Battle for Undercity scenarios, but I’m pretty sure that’s a permanent thing.
As for your bonus questions: Yes and yes! Bring on the PVP, baby!
