Welcome these new faces to Blizzard Watch!

Recently we put out a call for new writers and streamers — the response was overwhelming. We got way more applicants than we ever expected and the quality was the best we’ve seen (including from the before days in the site-that-shall-not-be-named).

Our new crew have published their first posts already, but I wanted to take a minute and introduce them to everyone so you all can give ’em the ol’ Blizzard Watch welcome. It’s up to you what that is … but usually it’s just a friendly “Welcome to Blizzard Watch!” Unless you’re Matt Rossi though, in which case it’s a “request” to pledge that you will always acknowledge the greatness that are warriors when you wake up each day.

Nico Deyo

Known on Twitter as AppleCiderWitch, Nico Deyo is a feminist media critic who lives in the Midwest, but is a transplant from the East Coast. Her passions are thinking way too hard about the stories and systems present in the popular culture and what they are trying to say to us. She’s been called “loud and opinionated” way too many times but she thinks of this as a feature, not a bug.

Nico will be helping us get our streaming off the ground and spearheading the effort for Blizzard Watch.

Deb Montague

Deb has been playing WOW a very long time. She’s been a guild leader for over 10 years. You can, sometimes, find her in Heroes of the Storm. In real life, she is supervised by 3 rescue cats who are okay with her writing so long as it keeps them in food.

Cory Taylor

Cory comes from the Land of Ice and Snow, an avid Blizzard fan he’s been hooked since Warcraft 2. Currently leading a rag tag crew of outcasts and misfits on the Zul’jin server, he spends his time in Warcraft as a Feral Druid, and out of Warcraft as a person who owns a cat.

Tyler Colp 

Tyler Colp is a writer, video maker, and streamer that’s covered games and pop culture for years. He’s played Blizzard games throughout his life and spends a lot of his time thinking and talking about Overwatch. Whatever you do, don’t ask him about Dark Souls.

Is there more… ?

Potentially! All the applicants were amazing. I’ll need to see how this works out in terms of content, both writing and streaming; but we are in a position where we may bring on more peeps (and only in the good way). Time will tell.
