The Queue: Winter skies
Welcome back to The Queue, our daily Q&A feature for all of Blizzard’s games! Have a question for the Blizzard Watch staff? Leave it in the comments!
How much time have you spent looking up? I’m continually baffled by just how amazing the skies are in Battle for Azeroth. This shot taken in the wintry area of Drustvar looks almost identical to the skies out here on a snowy day. Basically, clouds are great, hats off to the environmental design crew at Blizzard, and let’s get to your questions!
So should my dwarf do Cataclysm stuff so at level 84 and do dwarf stuff in the Twilight Highlands, or just go to Pandaland?
Personally, I always head to Pandaria the second I can do so. I might be a little tired of the quests, but I like the green forests and tranquil settings. But Twilight Highlands is pretty entertaining, and if you’re interested in leveling your Dwarf in Dwarf-appropriate areas, it’s a good place to go!
Q4tQ: What quest hub/storyline do you think is the one that has been completed by the fewest characters? I know in the pre-Cata days it was the Demon questline in Blasted Lands (per devs), what do you think it is today? My personal guess is the Alexstrazsa/Deathwing quests in Twilight Highlands.
I would say probably the Netherwing quests in Shadowmoon Valley. They’re extra content, and once you’ve completed them on one character, those Netherwing mounts are available to every character you have. So most people have completed them on one character, and never bothered to go back on any of their other characters — why would they?
But I’m pretty sure any max-level content from older expansions is probably on that list. These days when people are leveling, they move on the second they outlevel a zone. So any quest chains that take place at max level are usually skipped in favor of moving on to the next zone/expansion.
The planet is dying… Why does neither Sylvanas, nor Anduin, seem to care? Other than my occasional contact with Magni, I haven’t heard about this part for a long time.
I don’t think it’s a lack of caring on Anduin’s part so much as priorities. Sylvanas — I’m pretty sure Sylvanas doesn’t care. And she’s being pretty direct with the pressure on the Alliance at the moment, so Anduin can’t really afford to turn his attention away. Plus the Horde is just as gung-ho about snapping up Azerite as the Alliance is at the moment, and Sylvanas doesn’t seem to be particularly interested in using said Azerite to heal the planet so much as using it against the Alliance.
Basically, Anduin’s got a lot to think about, but if he just ignored the Horde and focused on fixing the planet, it would pretty much spell disaster for the planet.
As for Sylvanas…she seems to be okay with things being dead. After all, she can always raise the bodies and make more Forsaken. Say, anyone ever given thought as to what a zombie Titan might look like?
Me: Looks up what I need to finish “The pride of Kul’Tiras”
WoWhead: 25 steps and Good Luck sucker who hates sitting in long ass queues
I looked it up because it seems I’ve done this ridiculously horrible dungeon far too many times already and it should already be done. Guess not, seems someone at Blizzard went far and beyond their love of this damn place (maybe I missed something but whatever I’m on some long ass path now trying to finish it).
Okay — is it a long quest chain? Yes.
Do you have to go back to five-man dungeons you’ve probably already completed by now? Yes — although you can do them on Normal mode, which makes the queues a little less onerous.
But is it worth it? Yes, absolutely, without question, it’s one of the most beautiful storylines they’ve done. Jaina’s been pushed to the back of the story queue for far too long, and this brings her forward again, deals with all those past struggles and pulls her back into the story in an incredibly elegant, heartbreaking kind of way. It’s really good.
It’s still a pain in the butt to have to go back to all those dungeons, but in the end I didn’t mind it. And really, if you do the dungeons on Normal mode, it won’t take you too long to get through it — there’s a Siege of Boralus run at the end that’s kind of a pain, but the payoff is worth it.
Q4tQ: What about Bards as a rogue 4th spec? Assassins, Thieves (Subtlety), Outlaws, and Bards! All roguish characters in fantasy. Have them dual wield daggers in solo play but act as a long range lute wielding buff class in groups! There is already bardish looking leather helms for x-mog!
I think maybe adding a fourth Rogue spec would be a terrible idea — it made sense for Druids to go to four specs, just because of all of the shapeshifting forms. But to add a spec to an existing class that’s had three specs since day one? That doesn’t seem like the best idea in the world. If they were going to add Bards — and that’s a monumentally big if, mind you — I’d rather they just make them their own class.
Second Q: does anyone else want Mechagon to tie into the not so secret blingtron war?
Absolutely yes. Although I’m beginning to wonder how much of the strange Blingtron War is actually truth, and how much was fabricated. Like…maybe they’re all collectively pulling our legs with a complicated history that’s been written out of sheer boredom while waiting to be summoned for the umpteenth time, you know? Maybe Blingtrons aren’t part of some kind of grand conflict, they’re just part of an Azeroth-wide fanfiction network.
