The Queue: Still existing edition
Just what are all of these eyes staring at, you think? Do they ever get bored? Do they have days off?
It seems like a tiring, thankless job, being an ever-staring eye in Ny’alotha.
Q4tQ: So do you think the whispers of N’zoth have ceased entirely now that he’s been “defeated”? Or do you think there are some people out there still hearing him?
Okay, sure, it was hard to kill N’Zoth. But it wasn’t that hard.
And I think the same can be said for every Old God we’ve encountered. Sure, they were challenging.. for a while. But all of them were pretty easily defeatable by pretty mortal means: we hit them with things until they died.
The game dramatizes it – particularly N’Zoth, which has a cool cinematic — but it feels a little too easy.
What I’m saying is that I don’t think any of these are dead. None of this is over. The whispers of the Old Gods will continue to echo ever-so-softly in the back of our minds until they become a cacophony that we can no longer ignore — and the Old Gods, perhaps all of them, will return.
When should we expect more Core Race heritage armor? I feel like it would be the perfect filler for the inter-expansion gap.
I’m seriously concerned that we’re heading into a content drought that will last at least six months. I’m already getting a little tired of the content in front of me, and I’m not particularly excited about that being everything there is for that long.
So this is the perfect time to go through the gamut of content possibilities and roll out little things to keep the players (i.e. all of us us) occupied. Something like heritage armor seems like a good way to do that — it encourages us to finish leveling alts, we get a fun little questline and an awesome new transmog set. It’s a win all around!
But unfortunately… we haven’t even heard about heritage armor for the rest of the races and I don’t have a good feeling about it materializing before the expansion. But considering the rate at which we’ve gotten new heritage armor, I’d say Shadowlands is a likely time for the rest of them to roll out. I just think it’s unlikely we’ll see anything before then.
What is Abigail’s class and level? What prestige class does she plan on taking?
She is a level 12 in sleeping, with an unexpected specialization in catnaps — she naps in spurts that are interrupted whenever she senses something interesting is happening (like me walking near the treat jar). Her senses are finely honed so she can wake up from a seemingly deep sleep and be on her feet quickly. It’s a talent I wish I was that good at.
I’ve tried asking her about prestige classes, but she’s really cagey, so I’m not sure.
How many warlocks would it take to drain Azeroth’s world soul?
I don’t think it’s a question of how many as a question of how ambitious.
Draining the soul of a squirrel, for example, isn’t particularly different than draining the soul of a dragon. Just you have to be willing to go toe-to-toe with a dragon.
Draining Azeroth’s world soul would attract attention. Violent attention. Namely: the WoW player base.
You probably think you’re friends with your fellow players. That they might look the other way if you decided to grab just a bit of world soul. You know. For your collection. Not a big deal, right?
But then everyone else would get a quest pop-up from Magni explaining that Azeroth is in danger (again) and that we have to save her (again). And he’ll give us something really cool if we do, like a nice ilevel upgrade or a unique piece of transmog.
There is no force in this world more fierce than World of Warcraft players who have been offered transmog.
Warlocks aren’t stupid. They know all of this. They know that if Magni asked us to kill them, they wouldn’t last five minutes. So Warlocks may think longingly on collecting the world soul of Azeroth for themselves… but so far they’re all too sensible to actually try.
Which is a shame, because I could use some new transmog.
Disney Movie Tier List
This is a lengthy and complicated question to answer, so I’ll just give you my top five in no particular order: Lilo & Stitch, Sleeping Beauty, Monsters Inc, Zootopia, The Little Mermaid.
Now that 8.3 meanings the end of BfA. What will be your character’s personal stories until Shadow’s lands? Will they be relaxing down on the sunny beach of Booty Bay, will they be visiting with friends or family, or be out adventuring to collect gear from older dungeons so they look styling for Shadowlands?
I’m feeling a bit done with BfA at this point. Not that I haven’t enjoyed it, just I don’t feel like there’s much I’m still interested in doing. I’m definitely heading towards a drop-off in WoW time.
I like the idea of my characters using the time when I’m AFK to chill on a beach somewhere, though. I mean, they deserve it. They’ve just saved Azeroth from yet another existential threat, so they should be able to sit in the sand and watch the sun set with a tasty drink close to hand.
Give them some time to unwind without the need to grind anything or show up for raid nights. They can just be… at least for a while. At least until the next expansion calls them to new adventures.
That’s all for today, my friends. I hope this end-of-week Queue finds you happy, healthy, and unstressed. (Or at least as happy, healthy, and unstressed as is possible for you to be at this moment in time and space.) Give your pets a nice headscritch and tell the people you love that they’re important to you.
I’ll see you back here next week.
