In honor of Children’s Week, we contemplate the many ice creams of Azeroth
Children’s Week is upon us, which means it’s time to endanger a child in Alterac Valley, fly a kite, and visit the bank in Darnassus… well, maybe not that one. It is also time to enjoy some Tigule and Foror’s Strawberry Ice Cream, now conveniently available from elementals in your favorite city. We really only get to see the strawberry ice cream, but Azeroth must have more ice cream flavors.
What other frozen treats could we find around the realm and beyond? We put our minds to it and decided that these are the flavors you should be able to find around Azeroth. (And, preferably in your home freezer.)
Khadgar’s Whisker Sorbet
A Lemongrass-like herb named after the famous wizard and used in frost potions, Khadgar’s Whisker Sorbet would be light and airy but with a chilled, minty finish. This would make a nice intermezzo on a cheese tasting from One More Glass in Dalaran.
Tel’Abim Bananas Foster
There is a reason why the Steamweedle Cartel keeps the location of Tel’Abim as a tightly guarded secret: it leaves Tel’Abim bananas foster exclusive to Booty Bay and the tasty streets of Gadgetzan. Using only the freshest bananas, vanilla ice cream, shavings of Alterac dark chocolate, and a rum sauce served flambé style, the fire perfectly managed by mages.
Managrape Rolled Ice Cream
Made from the same managrapes used to make the arcwine of Suramar, managrape rolled ice cream has been perfected by artisans over thousands of years. Enjoyed by children too young for wine (and also everyone else).
Argent Tournament Shaved Ice
Though not located in the most hospitable place, the close proximity of fresh fruit from Sholazar Basin and and endless supply of ice has led to the rise of frozen confection available in many flavors, fitting of the many tastes of people visiting the Argent Tournament. Though the ice is checked first for any scourge remnants, the greenish colored Putricide Punch is not a popular flavor.
Halfhill Mochi Balls
In Halfhill, food is go big or go home, and that’s why their mochi balls are meant to be shared. Large balls of green tea ice cream wrapped in a rice paste shell, they are the best way to cool off after a long day farming, brewing, or fending off varmints.
Revendreth Red Velvet
Exclusive to only the most exquisite Venthyr galas, this sinfully delicious chocolate glace glows with the crimson aura you come to expect from these lordly Shadowland denizens. This dish may be to die for, but the cost of admission may be too much to pay.
So, Azerothian ice cream makers, it’s time to start getting creative. Let’s see some of these flavors pop up in the future. We’ll all be wanting for some cool treats by the time the Midsummer Fire Festival starts.
