The Queue: Almost Friday
Intro! I promise I’ll do this.
Q4tQ: Do you find yourself buying gaming dice you don’t need, or are you content with what you already have?
Is anyone in this, the year 2022, ever “content with what you already have”? Show me that sort of well-adjusted individual and I will ask them, “HOW?! Dear Yogg, how?!”
Ahem. Yes, I absolutely buy dice I don’t need because well actually I do need them because I don’t have this exact color palette/material/design/theme/etc. yet in my collection! Somehow!
It’s tornado watch time here in my section of East Tennessee.
I’m going to use this as my regular opportunity to remind folks that tornadoes are not something to be h*cked with. As soon as watches/warnings start, you get to a safe location and you stay there. Growing up, I took cover but I always sort of underestimated just what exactly a tornado ripping through your home would be like. Then I met someone who went through exactly that and, dang, tornadoes terrify me.
(Also, I’m sure you’re well aware of this since you brought it up to begin with, but like I said: I like to remind people when the opportunity arises. Stay safe!)
From all accounts Sylvanas has a very long term job ahead of her. Millions of souls from all over the WOW universe need to be directed back to the arbiter. For a whole lot of them she is going to be the last being they want to see. Then after they are finished going for her throat she has to convince them to follow her. The only thing better would be forcing her to relive the death of every one who died in the tree.
On the one hand, that makes plenty of sense. On the other hand, Sylvanas has been in The Maw for a while now and, like, idk, maybe The Jailer hid a super secret megaphone somewhere in case he ever needed to rally the souls.
My half-serious theory is that we’ll find out she freed all but one soul in no time flat, then spent the next 1,000 years looking for that last one… Nathanos’ soul.
So, you know, she’d find love in a hopeless place.
Q4tQ Do you think Anduin will end up as a Shadow Priest at some point in the next few expansions?
Q4tQ What game do you really want to play but you refuse to pay the current price for?
I’m sure there are examples out there, but how many big lore characters typically dabble in multiple specs? (Maybe Khadgar?) By and large, I feel like most get to stick to one spec and kind of stay in that role. And given Anduin’s been to hell and back and is just kind of tired of it all, I think he’s survived his Shadow phase.
Granted, my hope — now and for a long time — is that Anduin at least dabbles in Shadow. I’d love to see him accept that utilizing all aspects of Priest spells works but… well, I’m not holding my breath.
To your second question: It’s less refusal and more a mix of “I don’t have time right now” and “hopefully by the time I can play, it’s cheaper.” So, like, Returnal is one that I’ve had my eyes on for a while, but I know I won’t be able to play it until I clear some other games from my backlog. Lo and behold, it’s going to be part of one of the new PlayStation Plus services coming in June! So in that case, I just kind of didn’t feel like paying full price and it worked out in the end.
What is your favorite copy ability in the new Kirby game?
If the rumors are correct and the next expansion is all about the Dragonflights, do you think we will see the Void / Twilight / Infinite dragons as major antagonists, or have most of them already been killed off?
Do you think we will get any class change details in the expansion announcement, or do you think it will just be the early preview and just focus on the expansion setting / story / major system? What changes would you like to see for Shadow?
I haven’t quite unlocked them all, but honestly, the car ability is such a blast. The driving is weirdly fun, and I love smashing through anything and everything in my way. In terms of “normal” abilities, I think the dragonfire power looks the coolest and has a really fun jump-glide, but the noble (?) ability is probably the strongest because it can just shoot at anything no matter how far away it is.
I honestly don’t know. I think we’ll see them, but I don’t know if we’ll see them as major antagonists. If anything, I think it’d be a spin on them or some sort of off-shoot, in order to keep the antagonist feeling new.
We definitely won’t get anything that delves into, like, new abilities and talents. Or, almost definitely. If anything, it’d be the usual “Expanded Talents” pop-up during a flyover. I suspect if we get any class-related details, it’d be in regards to expanded class/race combos, class skins, or (maybe) a new class entirely. For Shadow, I know it won’t happen, but I want it to be its own class. Make it so Shadow can have more diversity in its builds and isn’t limited to one tree.
Do you think the next expansion will take us to level 70 or if they”re squishing us down to 50 again?
I don’t think they’d do another squish so soon. Even if it works, it doesn’t necessarily feel good. Plus, a 10-level squish sounds like the exact thing that would cause unexpected balance chaos in the pre-patch. I do think we’ll see another level squish eventually — but not in 10.0
Outro! I’ll do this, too.
