The Queue: The one where we talk about dragons

Spoiler alert: they’re all the one where we talk about dragons.

Dragons are just so great. The flying? That’s great. All of those colorful scales? Pretty great! The ability to go full on Onyxia and deep breath your enemies? Really super great. I just really love dragons is what I’m saying. Video game dragons, fictional dragons, it doesn’t matter.

Dragons are just great, and if you disagree with me …. well, you’re just wrong.

GLOWING METEOR CARROT SAID:

Dragon riding seems cool and all but I think I’d rather have dragon surfing

Why not both?

I mean, really, why not? Why can’t dragons fly both through the air and the sea? The possibilities are really only limited by your imagination… and maybe whether your dragon is aquaphobic.

ARTHONOS ASKED:

Q4tQ: Based on the timing between Stony Tony fully lighting the beacon, falling, and Alexstraza catching him, is it safe to assume that the healing of Azeroth is what triggered the dragons to fly to the general vicinity of the Dragon Isles where they waited for a quick rescue? Or am I overthinking things about the airspeed velocity of an unladen dragon and should just enjoy the fantasy of the cinematic?

As I have previously explained, dragons are great. This also means that dragons are very fast, so of course as soon as they heard the call of the beacon they zoomed the heck over. And these are nice dragons so they couldn’t let our new best friend go falling to is death.

Dragons are just that great!

ROXXII THE BELOVED ASKED:

Q4TQ: Would you rather fight 1 world boss sized duck or 100 duck-sized world bosses?

Easy: one world boss-sized duck. Why? Because of action economy.

Even a massive, ancient, powerful dragon duck can only do so much in a single GCD. When players team up, we can win the day on numbers alone because we can do so much more than our lone raid boss enemy.

But a hundred duck-sized bosses? No way. They’d have tons of actions every GCD and would absolutely overwhelm us. No contest.

Also a dragon-sized duck would just be pretty cool. Maybe not quite as cool as a dragon, but still pretty cool.

DRAKKENFYRE SAID:

Duck world boss abilities:

Like a hurricane: The boss slams its webbed foot into a puddle of water, and launches a tidal wave at the group. Does heavy damage. Instantly kills Fire Mages.

Quack Attack: Summons a small group of angry ducks to peck and slap the tanks.

The Quackening: Boss fixates on a random player and pecks them for 50% of their health.

Bread of the Dead: Randomly targets players in the group and debuffs them with a spell called Breadcrumbs. Five seconds later a flock of demon ducks flies down and eats those players if the debuff hasn’t been purged using water-based Shaman healing spells..

Quackpocolypse: Final quack. Wipes the group.

This duck is wildly overpowered. Quack attack? Quickening? Overpowered as heck. And Bread of the Dead requiring a Shaman?  What happened to bring the player, not the class? maybe the World First raiders could manage a beast like this, but the rest of us will need to see some nerfs.

Also: put that thing in a raid so poor mortals don’t just run into it. This is worse than the Dragons of Nightmare.

VAI TANIS ASKED:

So what do we think will happen if you try to take an Evoker through Legion content, how will the artifact & class hall content be handled?

This is an unprecedented problem… but I do still think we can make some reasonable guesses. Possibly they’ll let Evokers adventure through Legion without a class hall — there is plenty to do without ever visiting one, so perhaps Evokers just never do. Blizzard certainly isn’t going to whip up a new class hall and artifacts for old content, so I think the question is less what will they do and more how will they do it?

And there just aren’t a ton of options. So I suspect they’ll let you venture over to Dalaran…. just  without any of the interesting class flavor. And that even works narratively: during Legion, we hadn’t found the Dragon Isles yet, and there were no Evokers, no class hall to support them, no artifacts they decided to find. There’s plenty to do without it, just Evokers won’t have a great, custom-tailored experience here, which is going to make Legion a lot less appealing in the first place.

And that’s all, friends. Going into this weekend, just remember that dragons are great and that they’re coming back to Azeroth. The good times have returned, because there are dragons! Dragons!!!

Like I said, dragons are pretty great. The next expansion has dragons. See? My logic is flawless.

Take care of yourselves and have a great weekend, everybody.
