The Queue: Welcome to Queue o’clock
I’ve spent much of the past two weekends playing Diablo 4. (Spoiler: I really enjoy it.) But this weekend there’s no Diablo 4 to be seen, and I’m not quite sure what to do with myself. I suppose I’ll have to continue working through patch 10.0.7, finish my Hearthstone battle pass, and perhaps keep reading up on Diablo lore as I ponder where D4 might go after Act 1. (Hopefully somewhere.)
But I suppose I can answer some questions, too. Let’s Queue.
Q4tQ: after a week and a half, how’s your progress in 10.0.7? I’m only 15K away from having enough overflow for the bruffalon mount, and I’m hoarding my vault keys until someone else figures out how to get all the items for that mount. But once those things are both done, I’ll have everything I’m willing to try to get.
I’m grateful that the patch’s story quests were so good, as the rest of the content has not been what I hoped it would be.
I don’t think I’ve made very much progress. I haven’t found the time to do Baine’s quest or even visited the new Furbolg (though I hear it’s quick to earn their rep). I have spent some time in the Forgotten Reaches, though. The short quest chain was very good, with great voice acting. And I have actually really enjoyed exploring the Zskera Vaults and peeking into the different rooms and figuring out how they fit together. I didn’t expect to enjoy it as much as I do, because I usually tire of repetitive tasks quickly. I fished my new fishfriend Emmah out of a cauldron. A rat taught me how to make deviled eggs. It’s a very odd place, and I’m curious what we’ll see next week. (I still have a few more doors to open this week, though.)
Hopefully this weekend I’ll have time to get through the rest… and do some timewalking, too. I’m really behind on that one. And there’s a new trading post tomorrow! The very start of the month and I’ll already be behind schedule. Yikes.
Q4tQ: what’s your favourite meal to make when you have the time and energy to go all out and make a big thing?
Do you like spicy food? Sushi? Desserts?
What’s your go-to when choosing a restaurant?
Cory, I am notorious for forgetting meals, all I’ve eaten today is toast, and as a professional freelance writer I do not have the budget to eat out. Even grocery store sushi is quite expensive compared to just making something yourself.
Of course the unfortunate part of making food from scratch is that it requires time and energy, which I do not always (or even usually) have. It is a conundrum in which I am eternally trapped, and it’s how I can go an entire day and eat nothing but toast, which is easy to prepare and because it is heated it counts as making yourself a hot meal. Probably. Sort of. Maybe.
Probably my best meal for low energy but also possible some nutritional value is to throw brown rice into the rice cooker with some broth (in my case, water and bullion), and then when it has cooked part-way to throw some chopped broccoli on top of it. (There are rice cookers that have steamer baskets and the like, but I don’t have one. In the broccoli goes.) When it’s finished cooking, add some butter and a handful of shredded cheddar and it’s a quickish broccoli rice casserole. It takes 20 minutes or so but I don’t have to do much — measure rice and water, chop some broccoli, and stir it all together with some pre-shredded cheese.
Sometimes that’s effort I can make. And sometimes I have toast.
QfLiz – It’s noble garden soon. How early is too early for hot cross buns? Also, which is best: fruit, chocolate or neither?
It is never too early (or too late) for delicious carbs. Yum. I’m not much for sweets, but I will take carbs any time.
Downside: Will I ever have the energy to make/eat some? Hm. Questionable.
Well, it’s a short Queue today. As always, there’s too much to do and too few hours in the day, but let’s hope the weekend gives us all some time to relax and unwind. Take care and have a great weekend, everybody.
