The Queue: This one goes out to the one I love

And that is Shu-Zen, who is always there for me, ready to take to the skies and fly me from place to place on golden paws.

MUSEDMOOSE ASKED:

Q4tQ: what’s your favorite mount in WoW and why?

Asking because the Gooey Snailemental makes little squishy noises when it’s moving and goes *splat* when it lands from a jump, which is enough for me to love it more than any other mount in Dragonflight.

Shu-Zen, the Divine Sentinel, is the one mount that I keep coming back to. My fondness for other mounts comes and goes, but my love for Shu-Zen is eternal. Shu-Zen is a fluffy, oversized dog with glowing golden paws who runs through the air, leaving a faint streak of gold behind him. Shu-Zen is magnificent and perfect. Though there are newer mounts and shinier mounts, Shu-Zen will always be my favorite.

If I had to, if I absolutely had to, I could only ascribe Shu-Zen a single failing: he is not a dragonriding mount, and thus I have had no opportunity for him to carry me around the Dragon Isles. But that’s not his fault. No, Shu-Zen is a good boy, and he’s getting a nice break from having to carry me around, with a vacation at a luxurious spa. But I will never abandon my love for Shu-Zen.

KALCHEUS ASKED:

Q4tQ What do you think will be announced at BlizzCon this year?

So let’s assume we get BlizzCon at its previously typical November time. Diablo 4 will be out. WoW patch 10.2 may be live, or close to being live. Maybe we’ll even have seen the elusive Overwatch 2 single player mode, which Blizzard said would be out in early 2023 and hasn’t mentioned since. But with those assumptions, here’s what I think we might see at BlizzCon.

After releasing — and so far, sticking to — an aggressive 2023 roadmap, I wonder if Blizzard might plan to give us a 2024 WoW roadmap at BlizzCon. If so, it would likely include patches 10.2.5, 10.2.7, 10.3, and maybe 10.3.5, as well as the first teasers for Dragonflight Season 4, and the next expansion. That would be a whole heap of news by itself, and we’ve only touched on one game!

Diablo 4 will still be the new hotness, but I’m not sure what kind of update cycle the game will have. Each season will supposedly have new zones and new content, so we can expect a big content infusion with each — perhaps akin to a WoW patch. But with the length of time between the release and our potential November BlizzCon, I imagine we’ll have seen our first, possibly even our second season by then. Perhaps we’ll get the announcement of a major patch of some kind?

Then there are some old reliables: the predictable BlizzCon announcements. There will be a Hearthstone expansion announcement. There will be a new Overwatch hero and map and (assuming we get our single player mode) perhaps a new single player level or scenario. It’s also likely we’ll have another Diablo 2 ladder season and patch, and perhaps even a new Diablo 3 season. You can’t get enough Diablo, right? You probably can’t get enough Diablo.

Then there are the toss-ups: Warcraft Arclight Rumble, which we’ve heard very little about lately, and the unannounced survival game, which we’ve heard even less about. I wouldn’t be surprised to get a release date for Arclight, which is already very polished, but it would be a good time for a splashy new announcement about the survival game as well.

In short, there’s going to be plenty to talk about… but let’s see if any of us remember this post by the time BlizzCon comes around.

TELWAR ASKED:

Hrm. How would an assassination rogue do fire damage, he asks, looking at his rogue’s Seal of Filial Duty.

My paladin has a Decoration of Flame trinket which procs this for a nice combo. Though getting lucky enough to get the exact drop you need when you need it is probably a little problematic. You can also spec out your Onyx Annulet ring for fire damage, though this feels very unreliable. In short, there’s gear out there that can do fire damage regardless of your class — you just need to find it.

And I’m afraid that’s all for today my fellow Queuevians. I hope you’re having a lovely Friday and enjoy the (hopefully) long weekend. If you don’t have a long weekend (like me), I hope you are at least having a pleasant day. Take care of yourself and I’ll see you next week.
