WoW World Boss Strunraan The Sky’s Misery is now live in the Ohn’ahran Plains
Dragonflight Season One continues and it’s time for a new World Boss to spawn in the Dragon Isles: Strunraan the Sky’s Misery can be found (and killed) in the Ohn’ahran Plains this week. Just like in Shadowlands there will be four World Bosses in rotation, changing each week. Fortunately there are no absolutely essential drops based on the rotation, like last expansion’s Legendary Memories, so players won’t have to worry about missing out on something important if they skip a week. All of the World Bosses drop items that are ilevel-equivalent to the Normal difficulty of the concurrent raid, although with the more staggered ilevels in Vault of the Incarnates it should be noted that World Boss drops are ilevel 395, or equivalent to the middle bosses of the raid.
This week’s World Boss is Strunraan in the Ohn’ahran Plains. A proto-dragon of air, Strunraan should be known as the Healers’ Misery because players will want to take some damage as getting hit by a lightning strike or a tornado or even his breath (although the breath and tornadoes have a knockback, so they’re not as desirable) provides a 15 second buff that increases attack and casting speed by a significant 45%. The catch? Getting hit a second time removes the buff, stuns the player, and does damage to everyone nearby. The challenge for players is in getting one and only one stack throughout the fight; consistent failure to do so will end up being not fun for everyone involved.
Lightning can strike the same spot twice, so keep an eye on the skies
Strunraan can be found in the Ohn’ahran Plains zone, just west of the Cobalt Assembly — which is also the most convenient flight point. Dragonriding can get you there easily from Valdrakken and most of the zones, but you’ll want to make sure you fly around the Cobalt Assembly rather than struggle up the mountains across it.
The gear that Strunraan drops matches the normal Vault appearance, so those looking to farm transmog as well as gear upgrades will want to take the time to down the boss. Besides a haste proc trinket that can drop for all armor types and is guaranteed to also annoy your healers, Strunraan also drops:
- Cloth bracers (Mastery/Vers) that matches the Warlock appearance
- Leather pants (Crit/Vers) that match the Druid set and can be used at the Revival Catalyst to convert to tier gear
- Mail belt (Haste/Vers) that match the Hunter appearance
- Plate boots (Crit/Vers) that matches the Warrior set
As always we should expect defeating Strunraan to count as a world quest, with possible rewards of 250 rep with the Valdrakken Accord, Dragon Isles Supplies, or gold.
