The Queue: Hey, I can see infinity from here

I think I figured out why Neltharion wound up getting corrupted by Old Gods. He had this giant window looking out into the infinite void and did not have proper safety railings put up around it. Just think that all of Azeroth’s history could have been different if only he’d had OSHA come by and do an inspection. It makes you think.

In other news, I’m now Ahead of the Curve! Once we got our positioning sorted out heading into the final phase everything just kind of clicked and we got Sarkareth down pretty quickly. Mythic Kezzara on the other hand has remained super mean and a big doo-doo head elusive for another week.

While I go invest in an Onyxian Scale Cloak to stop all of that Shadowflame damage, it’s time for — The Queue!

MUSEDMOOSE DON’T YOU DARE LOOK BACK JUST KEEP YOUR EYES ON ME

Diablo Q4tQ: have you met the Butcher yet? I ran into him today in a dungeon – didn’t hear his voice, but I saw the boss life bar pop up, and I’ve never turned and run so fast. I heard “FRESH MEAT!” a second or two later, and I only got away because my sorc can teleport. Getting hit once took off maybe two-thirds of my health. >_<

I was in a group of four and we ran into the Butcher. We were all fairly low characters, not quite 20 yet, but I had a good feeling when he came around the corner.

Oh boy was I wrong to have that feeling. I was sliced, diced, and packaged for immediate sale in demon supermarkets before I could get a second Bone Prison off.

He carved a path through us that was bloody and dismaying. It was very humbling.

I still haven’t seen him show up on my main Druid though, I don’t know if it’ll go much better, but I have a feeling that at least my leveled Werebear might be able to put up a better fight than my baby Necromancer.

JæKSDæDI SAID YOU’RE HOLDING BACK THHE SAID SHUT UP AND DANCE WITH ME

QftQ: Based on a Mr. GM tweet, to what extremes are you prepared to go in WoW for the sake of SCIENCE? I’m seriously considering leveling a Worgen hunter via daily pet quests enough to procure Eagle Eye, so I can snoop around the landscape before all the script-driven changes happen.

I leveled a Druid in Warcraft only so that I could try out a speed tertiary stat build. The whole point is to turn off experience at level 50 and between a couple of pieces of Azerite armor and gear that you can buy with the Speed stat — you’ll get up to some absurd amount of run speed and be able to zoom around at Mach 5.

I still haven’t finished leveling it though, and I definitely didn’t find all of the pieces of gear I need to make the build work either. So I guess a little less far than that extreme.

I’m certainly not going the Doubleagent route and leveling a character only through gathering professions on the Dragon Turtle to see if I can summon people into the Pandaren starting area. Although kudos to whoever bites that bullet first.

I expect that Blizzard will have thought of that already and has put measures in place to prevent it from happening — but I’m quite willing to be proven wrong on that front.

THIS LEFTY IS MY DESTINY

QftQ [inspired by something that happened in a M+ last night.what nameplate addon do you use?
(I use Plater).
Me: What nameplate addon do you use, [shaman who tab-targeted a mob instead of the totem at the end of Brackenhide]
Shaman: I don’t use nameplates at all. Haven’t in about 10 years.
Me:???

I don’t use any either. I’ve never used a nameplate addon or weakaura.

I’ve managed through sheer stubbornness to keep my UI to basically factory standard so that I’d never have to worry about a cascade of failures on a patch day interrupting my play. I use Vuhdo to look at my party, and DBM to keep track of things that I need to know in a fight, and a few weakaura’s for things like how much time I have left on Incarnation — but that’s about it.

Now you’ve got two people you can surprised Pikachu face over!

THOMAS STRANGE … WE WERE VICTIMS OF THE NIGHT

AAAH! I GOT IT!
10 years of farming later, Mimiron’s Head dropped!
AAAH!

Congratulations!

In case I was also super lucky I went and killed Arthas and Yogg-Saron. I was not lucky. Sadly my hunt will continue, but I’m happy that you’re free!

HELPLESS TO THE KALCHEUS AND THE FADING LIGHT OH WE WERE BOUND TO GET TOGETHER

Q4tQ: Which Final Fantasy games have you played?

I’ve played Seven, Eight, Nine, 13, and 15.

I might have played some of the off-main-line games briefly but never enough to make any of the stick in my head right now.

Of those five games I’ve played, I only beat Seven and Eight. I came close on Nine and gave up halfway through 13 and 15. I just don’t think I like the new combat style of the later Final Fantasy games.

Eight is definitely my favorite though. That’s the first big game that I can ever remember beating. I feel like that final fight took me an hour, even though it was probably just twenty minutes. I loved the edgy gun blades, eerie piano music, and flying a giant university around the map.

A BACKLESS DRESS AND SOME BEAT UP SNEAKS MY DISCOTHEQUE RENOWNED EXPLORER ROXXII TEENAGE DREAM

Q4TQ: Which Final Fantasy game is the worst one in your opinion?

Seven.

I FELT IT IN MY CHEST AS ARTHONOS LOOKED AT ME I KNEW WE WERE BOUND TO BE TOGETHER

With how often you replace gear leveling up in D4, is it even worth it to put gems into sockets? Seems like it isn’t wise given the high gold cost. I’ve also been salvaging everything, I’m assuming the mats are going to be harder to come by than gold at max level.

Oh yeah, I slap gems into any open slot I have. I have a bank full of the basic ranks of gems, I might as well use them. Now I wouldn’t do anything drastic like add sockets to gear that doesn’t have it until I’ve gotten closer to the endgame. You’re right there just isn’t enough gold for that while leveling. But losing one chipped or crude sapphire because I sell that pair of boots? I’m not losing any sleep over that.

Also if you’re salvaging everything you’ll get that gem back when you salvage the piece.

You know it’s been too hot outside when Bacardi doesn’t even curl up on the couch. So here’s some hot hot cat for some hot hot luck for you. This is the vault that comes alongside the Creation Catalyst so make sure that you think about things that you could catalyze alongside things that might be upgrades on their own.
