The Queue: Please ask more questions edition
No, really, ask some questions. Obviously right now I’m asking for questions for Cory on Monday, but if you could remember to ask questions for me next week I would be very happy.
Let’s Queue.
Question for the Queue:
Is there a existing heritage armor you want Blizzard to go back and add more colors or fix? For me it’s the worgen heritage armor, it has missing textures. The belt for heritage armor covers it up but where belt goes is just a gap in the texture.
Blood Elf. It’s red and bright yellow gold with green accents, which, okay, is the Blood Elf color scheme, but also it doesn’t match anything. That peculiar shade of gold matches nearly nothing, and the bold primary red is nearly as bad. Give me some more questions so I can make my own weird heritage armor combinations.
So with NElf and Forsaken getting heritage armors in 10.1.7, who are left to get some? Draenei and Troll?
Troll, Draenei, Pandaren, and Dracthyr — at least if you count Dracthyr, who do have unique armor that they get when they roll their characters. Blizzard has been adding these in a very strange order. Troll is the last original race that’s doesn’t have Heritage Armor, but plenty of later races already have theirs.
Q4tQ Has the release of the Blood Knight today made you consider playing Diablo Immortal (again if you had stopped playing)?
Probably not. It sounds like a neat class, but even though I think Diablo Immortal is actually a great game, the way the game pesters you to spend money is exhausting. I don’t have the energy for it. Plus between the deluge of new WoW content and Diablo 4 (Season 1 starts next week!) I just don’t have time — and that’s only counting video games. I’ve got Critical Role to catch up on, I want to watch Rebels before Ahsoka premieres next month, and if I’m watching Rebels I should start with Clone Wars, shouldn’t I? (I’ve watched Clone Wars before, but it’s been a while, and I never watched Rebels.) We’re planning to start a Blizzard Watch Pathfinder game (meaning I need to learn to play Pathfinder), and I’ve been running some campaigns that have been semi-abandoned lately because I’ve been busy… I’d like to get back to them, but time is ever the enemy.
Also I’m easily distracted, so there’s a chance I won’t do any of that. But Diablo Immortal probably isn’t on the list.
QftQ: With Man’ari Eredar becoming an option for Draenei characters, what other Skin options would you like to see available for existing Races? I’m thinking the Yaungol might be a pretty cool alternative to Tauren.
And, of course, add some Body Type options, from Skinny to Jacked to Bootylicious.
Blizzard has taken multiple methods to add big transformations to races. In some cases they’re all new races, and in some cases they’re customizations to existing races. So Dwarves can be standard Dwarves or Dark Iron Dwarves — different races. But neither of them have customizations to be Wildhammer Dwarves. Humans don’t just have new body types: there are Humans and Kul Tirans. Blood Elves can have green or gold eyes, go for a High Elf look with blue eyes, or lean into the Sylvanas style with red eyes and gray-tinged skin. There are Tauren and Highmountain Tauren, even though they’re pretty much the same except for the horn style — and Yaungol fall in that same category.
Personally I’d like to see more body types for all races. Tall or short? Muscle-bound or slender? But so far we’ve only seen this as new races, so I’m not sure it’s likely to get these as customizations rather than new races.
But then again, the addition Eredar surprised me, so maybe Blizzard will keep surprising me.
Thoughts on them bringing back Old Scholomance and Naxxramas and the transmogs that were lost with them? If they can bring these back what else would you like to see return?
Personally I’m pro returning content to the game, I don’t think anything should be lost like this. I’d love to see them return things like the original battle for Undercity, I never got to do it (I was on the questline when it got pulled), though I understand I can just go level in classic now for that. Alternatively they should really bring back the legendary cloak questline from Mists. Never understood why they deleted that…
I love transmog and I love classic Scholomance so I love this. I also don’t think transoms should be removed — particularly the Legendary quest chains. Just make it so the cloak doesn’t have value, but let people play through the story quests and collect the look.
WoW is sometimes just a very elaborate game of dress-up, which means the more transmog the better.
And that’s all I have for now, my friends. Have a great weekend, pet your dogs (or cats), and take care of yourself. I’ll catch you back here next week.
