What are you most looking forward to in WoW patch 10.1.7?

In a surprise move Thursday, Blizzard announced Dragonflight patch 10.1.7 will be called Fury Incarnate and released an updated roadmap of things included with the patch and the intent to roll the PTR out that same day. Similar to the other smaller “in-between” patches, we’re getting a new public event, story quests, and Night Elf and Forsaken Heritage armor and quests. We’ll also be getting more character customization options and the holiday refresh starting with Brewfest and Hallow’s End, though no official word if that’ll continue to carry over in to Dragonflight patch 10.2 or Season 3 at this moment.

Obviously, I’m looking forward to everything here, but one thing stands out above all else — Night Elf Heritage armor and customization. When I first started my World of Warcraft journey I rolled a Night Elf Druid and immediately fell in love the Teldrassil starting zone, Ashenvale, everything Elf related in or near Kalimdor. Since then, I’ve chosen the Night Elf race in retail WoW and WoW Classic for nearly 90% of my characters.

Unfortunately, at this moment we have no idea what the Night Elf Heritage armor looks like but at least the Forsaken mains can see what they’ll be getting. I know we got a Sentinel-styled armor set in Battle for Azeroth but some of the classes looked better than the others and I’m personally hoping for a color-scheme and armor style of the Classic/Vanilla-era Sentinels. All of the Heritage armor that we’ve gotten so far has looked really good so I have a good feeling that the design team is going to knock it out of the park. I’m also excited for the addition of tattoos to the Night Elf customization pool and can’t wait to see what they look like too.

I’m also intrigued by the Dreamsurges public event description: “Each week one of the four original zones in the Dragon Isles…will be affected by Waking Dream portals across the zones.” I haven’t had a chance to jump in to the PTR yet so I don’t know for sure what the event includes but the use of Waking Dream here stands out to me: previously it was an Azerite power in BFA and the name of an achievement in BFA‘s last raid, Ny’alotha, the Waking City. Surely this can’t be a coincidence, right? I guess only time — and the PTR — will tell.

The last thing that popped out to me was the hint of Velen and the Draenei being involved in the story somehow, especially with so much going on in with the other Dragonflights.

That’s it for what I’m looking forward to, tell us what you’re most looking forward to in patch 10.1.7!
