The Queue: Queuessical the Musical

Good Morning, Queue! I feel like I’ve used this particular conceit before, but if so it’s still fine — we’re doing a sequel. By know, you should know that anything goes.

This is The Queue, where you ask us questions and we are sorry, not sorry about our answers.

You excited for the HSBG refresh tomorrow?

On the one hand, yes. It seems like every meta gets stale and has one or two particular strategies which either hits hard, or you get knocked out turn 8. While it feels great if you happen to get that juicy Bream + Bassgill combo, if you don’t it’s just waiting on the inevitable sadness.

But then, when ever HSBGs patch I feel like I’m constantly switching my philosophy every few turns, even within the same game. It feels very unsteady — but then, so is everyone else, so you can still eke out wins even though you’re always trying to find a card that isn’t even there anymore.

Oh no, it’s almost Gamescom? So much for keeping up on my watchables..

Yeah, I have a feeling my Steam wishlist is going to grow by a very large specific number later today. I have no idea what to expect and yet I’m already excited — and a little scared.

JALAMENOS

When was the Gamescom stream? At new Queue time?

Just one hour more!

Yay I’m done with the Whelp Day Care quest chain!

Congrats! It’s a lot tougher to raise children than you’d think. Especially when they’re dragons.

Oh, I forgot to tell Anna, I got a coloring book. It’s not an adult one. It’s a One Piece one. Because I am who I am.

I do enjoy coloring with the littles! It’s a great way to keep busy with your hands while chatting about their day or just kind of in general. It can also be a great transition activity from school to home. I know when we go straight to the sandbox or legos or especially the train set after school sometimes we stay a little too rowdy.

Coloring together can float along from a form of parallel play, if they’re content to color in their own book, all the way up to cooperative play if you’re coloring together on the same pages. I’ll admit that sometimes I get a little annoyed when I spent a couple days on delicate shading and then one of the kids decides to jump on in, but a lot of the time the blue purple yellow red water on the green purple yellow red grass is an invaluable snapshot you can look back on later, as an enduring testament to the time you’ve spent together — Sunday or no.
