Are the servers up for WoW patch 10.1.7 yet? Yes!
Dragonflight patch 10.1.7 has arrived: after a period of scheduled maintenance, the servers are now up!
There’s a lot to talk about in patch 10.1.7. The final patch of Dragonflight Season 2, this patch will serve as a bridge heading into patch 10.2 and Season 3 (whether that’s the final raid tier of Dragonflight remains to be seen). Regardless of the future, 10.1.7 continues the Blizzard’s fast-paced expansion-long content rollout, with several new activities to keep players occupied.
While the stories of the Blue and Black Dragonflights appear to be completed, the other Dragonflights are still dealing with crises as the Bronze reckon with the fallout from the Dawn of the Incarnates megadungeon (now available in Heroic difficulty!) and the Green move into focus with the new Dreamsurge events. Fyrakk and Vyranoth are coming after the new World Tree in the Emerald Dream and while the new cinematic shows them at odds over methods their goal remains the same.
The machinations of the Incarnates isn’t the only story players will get to experience in 10.1.7. Two new Heritage quest chains are debuting for the Night Elves and the Forsaken, and it looks like the Draenei are going to be recruiting Eredar into their ranks. The next chapter in Tyr’s story is also promised to progress during the patch.
Dragonriding remains a big feature of the expansion and the next “old world” Dragonriding event will be the Eastern Kingdoms cup next month. There are also some small quality of life changes coming, including the new Ping system that should make life easier for those who enjoy group content. Holiday updates — including a new Headless Horseman experience — are being done for my favorite holiday Brewfest as well as Hallow’s End.
Even though patch 10.1.7 is the fifth planned Dragonflight patch for 2023 the amount of content being added is substantial even if it’ll ultimately pale versus the upcoming tier patch 10.2. Hopefully the downtime will end as scheduled or earlier (like patch 10.1.5 did) so that players will be able to explore these new experiences for themselves.
The servers are now up, so go ahead and explore all that new content!
