The Queue: Shadow’s heart
Happy Wednesday, everyone! Yours truly is about to take a very extended weekend in the mountains, which means a couple days away from my latest obsession: Wooing Shadowheart in Baldur’s Gate 3. It’ll be exciting! But I’ll miss you, Shadowheart.
Anyhow, this is The Queue, where we provide As to your Queuestions. Let’s get started.
I just sifted through over a year of security cam footage like a madman to figure out who is stealing my candy.
Turns out it’s everyone!
Who’s the madman now?? Haha Hahaha Hahahaaa!
I have but one response:
(Bonus: Russian Yogg-Saron laugh.)
Q4tQ: is this Mitch’s fault?
I, YOGG-SARON, HAVE ESCAPED MY WRETCHED PRISON IN ULDUAR AND TAKEN CONTROL OF THIS TWITTER ACCOUNT.

Yes, Praise Yogg!
I’m assuming tomorrow is Rossi day, but regardless.
Q4tQ: please to explain Thoradin’s Wall. I had thought it was built to protect Arathi from Not Arathi, but I was plunking around in Hillsbrad and noticed all the ramps were on that side of the wall, meaning either the wall is backwards or my understanding is.
Did Thoradin just hate spiders and raptors? Fair.
Well, officially, Thoradin was sealing off the Amani Trolls when it was first built. But that was a long time ago, and a whole lot has happened since then. Could it simply be a mistake that doesn’t line up with canon? Sure! But it could also be that, in the centuries since it was built, it’s been repurposed and had changes to the construction made.
Also, I am not Rossi, but Rossi (and others) definitely help out when I can’t cover The Queue — which happens more and more lately because life is busy X_X I am very grateful for the support.
Q4tQ: What is a game you loved as a kid, but know you can’t replay it now as your nostalgia is hiding any and all flaws?
If you won’t mind me thinking out loud for a bit, this one’s tricky because in general, I just don’t play games a second time. The biggest exception is Mario 64, which I’ve played SO many times but is also one of the first games I played (so there’s a hefty amount of nostalgia there). It’s kind of the opposite of what you’re looking for.
I think nostalgia covers a lot for me when it comes to old games. What’s more likely is someone will recommend a game that’s quite a bit dated and, because I don’t share nostalgia, will be harder for me to get through. Dragon Age: Origins in particular was one I know is objectively good but is hard to prioritize over more modern games that do similar but better.
Not an answer for me, but I know plenty of folks who won’t play WoW Classic because the game is incredibly different from the vanilla game they played. It’s not necessarily a “flaws” thing (though, in a lot of instances, it can be) but oftentimes an “I’m older and different and can’t play this kind of game nowadays” thing.
So yeah, I’m not actually sure I have a great answer here. If I’m replaying an old game, it’s because of nostalgia; if I’m not replaying an old game, it’s because that’s just kind of my Mitchus Operandi.
QftQ: Do we have any idea how the weekly Aiding the Accord quest is handed out? My paladin and rogue got the Maruuk hunt for their weekly, and the rest just got “go get 3000 rep kthxbai.”
Not complaining, but it seems a little odd.
I don’t know, to be honest, but it’s possible it’s tied to the quests you’ve done on any given character and how far into a given zone’s quests you are. But also, it might just be RNG being RNG.
Q4tQ: What is going on in WoW these days? I’ve been away for ~6 months. It’s hard to stay in the game without a guild to do stuff with.
I’m not the best person to answer this, but the short version is… everything. Everything is happening. Frankly, too much is happening nowadays in WoW to accurately summarize in a single answer. Do you wanna know about PVE or PVP? Dungeons or raids? Gearing changes? Limited-time events? Various Trading Post rewards, including class-based sets? What about the new Heritage Armor and customization options? Old World Dragonriding in limited capacities? Old-world stuff like Scholomance, Tier 3 crafting, and maybe even Scarlet Monastery?
We learned a lot about what’s happening in the future, too, with 10.2’s announcement and subsequent reveals!
But me? My regular M+ group hit Keystone Hero and shortly after, kinda ran into (unrelated) issues with the push to all 20s, so I’ve not been playing much. Mythic+ is my game right now, and I don’t have too much left to do there, so other games and IRL stuff get my focus.
That’s our Queue for today! I hope you all have a great week! Wish me luck against wild Druids and other Nature-based effects.
Oh, and leave questions for tomorrow’s writer.
