Turbulent Timeways returns for six weeks of Timewalking dungeons and rewards the Chrono Corsair Skyriding mount in patch 11.1.7

The War Within patch 11.1.7 is on the PTR and during the patch cycle we will see the return of the Turbulent Timeways. For six weeks we’ll have an active Timewalking event, encouraging us to revisit old dungeons and factions. In addition to the standard rewards from Timewalking, this Turbulent Timeways event will reward us with with the Chrono Corsair skyriding mount — aka Infinite Pirate Dragon! — for completing the Master of the Turbulent Timeways 3 achievement, which is the meta-achievement requiring you to run dungeons five of the six weeks of the event.

The new Turbulent Timeways will also see the introduction of Battle for Azeroth Timewalking. The following dungeons are included in the rotation: Atal’Dazar, Freehold, King’s Rest, Shrine of the Storm, Temple of Sethraliss and Waycrest Manor. To make sure no one misses it both the first and final week of the event will be Battle for Azeroth Timewalking.

If you need another reason to jump in, there’s also increased gear rewards: the weekly quest to complete five Timewalking dungeons will reward a cache with Heroic Undermine gear (item level 649-665) instead of Normal difficulty loot. These pieces can also be upgraded with crests to increase their power.

If you’re more concerned about the collectibles available with Timewalking Badges, the Turbulent Timeways event is a great time to stock up on them: you can get 500 a week on the first character in your Warband (subsequent characters get a smaller reward) via the quest drop you get by running a single Timewalking dungeon, with additional Badges for every boss you kill. Those still looking to purchase mounts as well as the new items added during the 20th Anniversary will be well on their way, and if there are any other items you are missing — or reputation you want to finish — now’s the perfect time to acquire them. Reputation gains for the week’s faction are boosted by 50% and you can buy tokens for bonus reputation at Timewalking vendors. You may even be lucky enough to acquire the Infinite Timereaver, which is what I keep telling myself every time I queue up.

Here is the schedule for each Timewalking week during Turbulent Timeways (dates to be revealed later):

  • Week One: Battle for Azeroth
    • Atal’Dazar, Freehold, King’s Rest, Shrine of the Storm, Temple of Sethraliss, and Waycrest Manor
  • Week Two: Mists of Pandaria
    • Gate of the Setting Sun, Mogu’shan Palace, Scholomance, Shado-Pan Monastery, Stormstout Brewery, Temple of the Jade Serpent
  • Week Three: Burning Crusade
    • Dungeons: Blood Furnace, Botanica, Magisters’ Terrace, Mana-Tombs, Shattered Halls, Underbog
    • Raid: Black Temple
  • Week Four: Warlords of Draenor
    • Auchindoun, Bloodmaul Slag Mines, Everbloom, Grimrail Depot, Shadowmoon Burial Grounds, Skyreach
  • Week Five: Legion
    • Black Rook Hold, Court of Stars, Darkheart Thicket, Eye of Azshara, Neltharion’s Lair, Vault of the Wardens
  • Week Six: Battle for Azeroth
    • Atal’Dazar, Freehold, King’s Rest, Shrine of the Storm, Temple of Sethraliss, and Waycrest Manor

While the Timewalking raid of Black Temple will be available during its respective week, it does not have any additional rewards during the Turbulent Timeways event. Still, you’ll get a quest drop for an additional 500 Timewarped Badges.

To get the Chrono Corsair Skyriding mount you’ll need to get the accountwide Master of Timeways 30% experience buff five of the six weeks of the event. This is accomplished by running four Timewalking dungeons on the same character, as each run adds a stacking experience buff labeled Distilled Knowledge of Timeways until Master of Timeways is earned. Do this five weeks and you’ll have your shiny new Infinite Pirate Dragon!
