The Queue: It’s Winter Veil! (Or is it?)

It’s the holidays, but it really doesn’t feel like the holidays.

SJHAWK ASKED:

Any last minute Winter’s Veil gifts you’re hoping to get for a significant (or insignificant) other? Any gifts you’re hoping to get given?

It’s a weird holiday season for me, because I’m up in a new house by myself, we have work getting done so everything is covered and taped up, and there’s not a lot of room for holiday… anything. So it doesn’t really feel like we’re only a few days away from the gift-giving holiday of the year, and with everything going on in moving and getting the house fixed up I’ve barely even thought about it. I was going to send out holiday cards this year but it’s already too late for anything to arrive in advance. (Okay, forgetting to send cards is actually pretty typical for me, but forgetting everything is a little unusual.) It is the holidays, but I am adrift in time. What even are gifts?!

So I guess the answer is no? No. How are everyone else’s holidays going? Let me live vicariously in your holiday plans!

FELINAE ASKED:

We know we have expansions coming for WoW and Diablo next year – what other Blizzard franchises do you see new content coming to in the new year?

Blizzard has been such an absolute machine for content lately, with a rapid-fire pace of releases for Warcraft as well as regular seasonal content for Overwatch and four Diablo titles. I think we can expect new content for everything, on the roadmap or off the roadmap or even without a roadmap. We know we’re getting a WoW expansion, a WoW Classic expansion, a Diablo expansion — we know that for a fact. We can say with certainty we’ll get the standard three Hearthstone expansions. Blizzard has gotten into a pretty regular cadence across its games, and there’s no sign they’re going to deviate from it.

So we really know there’s a lot of content coming to Blizzard’s core titles, whether it’s an expansion or the standard seasonal cadence. What I’m more interested in is what we don’t know. The games we haven’t heard about, like the survival game Blizzard is ostensibly working on, or the possibility of new StarCraft or Heroes of the Storm.

As Blizzard leans more into a regular release schedule, it’s increasingly difficult for them to do anything that’s actually surprising. We know. We already know. So I’m interested, always, in any surprises they can pull off.

MITCH ASKED:

Q4TQ: My friends and I are celebrating Cagemas on Saturday. If you had to pick one Nic Cage movie to include in a Nic Cage marathon, which movie would it be and why?

This is such an easy question that I don’t know why it even needs to be asked. But since you need me to spell it out, the answer is The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, co-starring the incredibly precious Pedro Pascal.

But it’s probably for the best that you do a whole Cagemas leading up to it since you’ll want to refresh yourself on every other iconic Cage movie leading up to it. This is a good capstone film.

KALCHEUS ASKED:

Q4tQ What is your favorite version of A Christmas Carol?

This is another weird question, because again the answer is so obvious. There’s only one version of A Christmas Carol.

This is the Queue, and we’re here to answer questions, but honestly, do you even need to ask?

And that’s all for today. Take care of yourselves, have a great holiday, and I’ll see you back here next week.
